The Queue: Flowers for Azeroth

It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

Jeff asked:
Do any of the bosses in the twilights drop the bouquets?
No, not that I've seen and not that I've received any reports of. The list that I know is accurate is:
- Admiral Ripsnarl in heroic The Deadmines
- Corla, Herald of Twilight in Blackrock Caverns (normal or heroic)
- Drahga Shadowburner in Grim Batol (normal or heroic)
- High Priestess Azil in Stonecore (normal or heroic)
- Lord Godfrey in heroic Shadowfang Keep
Saltypoison asked:
Is there a good site to buy TCG loot cards with a minimal change of getting scammed?
I know of WootLoots and WoW TCG Loot to be of good reputation. I haven't bought any cards online myself, but I know a lot of people who have purchased from these sites.
Some folks recommend using eBay, and while I can't say that won't work ... I know too many horror stories from people buying gaming things off eBay to do it myself. I'm sure the vast majority of eBay purchases are fine, but I usually play it pretty safe with my money. I also don't trust humans; elves yes, humans no.
Backoff asked:
Will the darkmoon dungeon artifacts drop for a level 85 clearing old instances? Wowhead lists Mysterious Grimoire as dropping in Scholomance, but there seems to be conflicting information as to whether that will only drop for level appropriate toons or whether anyone can get it from Scholomance.
My understanding is that it'll only drop off dungeons you run that are level-appropriate.
Antieuclid asked:
Are there any addons available that will track who won what in Raid Finder rolls? Having to scroll through all the chat spam is annoying.
Check out this Addon Spotlight from December detailing some options.
Rameak asked:
Does the daily WoW recap with blue posts and such not happen when blizzard is silent for a day? i've noticed a few times where it hasn't been posted and (as a late night gamer) i really miss it.
its a good way to catch up with WoW all over the web, not just blue posts. It would be understandable if a writer/editor was sick or if there wasn't much news, but its a lot nicer than having to scroll all over.
I only post it on weekdays, since that's when Blizzard is mostly active right now. When the beta hits and we have more going on during the weekends, I may start doing it then, depending on available content. I don't think there's ever been a day during the week in the past six months that Blizzard hasn't said something of importance.
If I am sick, Alex, Sacco, or Mat usually grab it for me. So it'll always be posted.

Doh, can't believe I have to go back and run 4.0 dungeons to get the bouquet. That will not be fun.
Shinae Feb 7th 2012 11:18AM
On the plus side, A Treatise on Strategy only drops in the 4.0 heroics.
Caz Feb 7th 2012 11:28AM
I got a Treatise in Well of Eternity on Saturday night, from Varothen/Mannaroth.
Shinae Feb 7th 2012 11:35AM
Hey, I was just going by what WoWHead was reporting. I have yet to ever see one drop, despite running the 4.3 heroics many times. If it weren't for the ones on the AH going for 10k gold, I would think they were a myth.
Sarducci Feb 7th 2012 11:40AM
With 4.3.2, they were added to the twilight heroics drop tables.
(cutaia) Feb 7th 2012 11:46AM
I'm guessing it has to do with the recent patch, which included these lines in the notes:
- Soothsayer's Runes and A Treatise on Strategy should now drop from all appropriate Heroic and raid bosses.
- Murozond's Temporal Cache now has a chance to contain Monstrous Egg and A Treatise on Strategy.
I don't really know what those mean, exactly, but it does seem like maybe the Treatise is getting easier to find. Anecdotally, I used to see 1 or 2 on the AH for around 15k, and suddenly, I see 10 at a time, with prices going as low as 6k.

I'm gearing my paladin in normals, and I got Grim Batol. Sure enough, as soon as the roll for the roses was done, the winner left the group. I don't want to game the system with PVP gear to get into something I'm not ready for, but that sorely tempted me to.
Aaron Feb 7th 2012 2:25PM
It's not so bad. Wait for the weekly guild challenges to reset, get 2-4 guildmates, and run the normal dungeons (Grim Batol, Stonecore, or Blackrock) for guild EXP. If you're mostly wearing 378's, it should be trivially easy, and shouldn't take more than 30 minutes per run. Reset and repeat until all of you have a Bouquet.
Side note: if you don't run with guildmates, it is very very likely that you'll have an experience like Jaq's, where people drop group right after the Bouquet boss.
craig.eddy Feb 7th 2012 7:44PM
I got the Bouquet from the Second Boss in HoT today
Tauren Fan Feb 7th 2012 8:09PM
I'm happy to say the bouquet dropped in Well of Eternity for me a few minutes ago. It was for an alt, but it made my day to know I'd pick one up eventually on my main that actually does the holiday activities.
absintheaffliction Feb 8th 2012 10:46AM
The Azshara encounter dropped a red rose bouquet for our group last night as well.
Which is fortunate, as every 4.0 boss could have a chance to drop Ashes and I still wouldn't pug that junk.

With buying cards off Ebay, it's pretty safe provided you examine your sellar. Make sure they a) have a 100% rating with their customers BUT ALSO b) they have a large number of customers. If someone has a 100% rating but they've only sold to two people, then it might be a little iffy. If you look at the WoW TCG Loot site linked, they usually also list ebay auctions. Look through them for someone with a good reputation, and you're about as safe to buy from them as you are to buy from the actual site =).
Aaron Feb 7th 2012 2:46PM
Good points. On a related note, I'd also recommend looking into their *seller* feedback. My eBay rating is in the hundreds because I've purchased a lot of small items, but I've yet to sell anything. Last year, I ran across a textbook seller who appeared to have used that to his advantage. He bought lots of tiny items in May and June, then in July suddenly listed dozens of textbooks for $50-200 each. Judging by subsequent feedback, he never delivered any of them.
Ratings are a good shortcut, but it only takes five minutes to check the details. For more expensive items, gifts, or sellers with low ratings, I'll even investigate the people who delivered feedback. Do they have a reasonable history, or are they just sock puppets?
loli.gigis Feb 7th 2012 3:20PM
Also always have the loot card mailed to you and if it doesn't work file a paypal dispute! I bought one off of Ebay for my husband and it was fine the shipping just took a little longer since it was returned to him but he notified me right away of the issue.
Magma Feb 7th 2012 4:21PM
It doesn't have to be 100% to be safe, if the seller sells thousands of items, there is bound to be someone unhappy and even 1 unhappy person out of thousands will knock you out of 100%.
Gossamer Feb 7th 2012 11:07AM
I've purchased two loot cards from Ebay and it went just fine. It may have something to do with me having chosen folks with many, many sales and lots of feedback, or maybe I just got lucky.
AudreyR Feb 7th 2012 11:47AM
Same here. BUT I was careful to look at the rating and comments on the sellers that had cards at a price I liked.
Another thing to be cautious about E-Bay Auctions is that some of them just lead to a warehouse which requires odd extra steps to "Buy Now". B
This goes for any auction really, but really read everything the seller has on their pages.
lazymangaka Feb 7th 2012 11:58AM
I always buy through amazon. Most of the companies there are shops that specialize in trading cards and such. Just make sure it is listed as a loot card. some sites do sell the non loot versions of the cards.

Are there any other areas like the place in north mulgore with the prarie dogs, rabbits, and rats with weapons? I love finding cool little nifty things in wow. I do it while I work on my explore azeroth achievment.
