6. Threat ManagementProtip: It's okay to not attack or cast for a few seconds. Seriously. Also, the tank is where you want to run, not "away".

As someone who tanks frequently on my feral bear, this is a big one for me. I know the hunter and rogue are attacking already, but they're doing it for a good reason- they have tricks of the trade and misdirect, and if you pull aggro, I will have no rage, and will have a much harder time for the first 30 seconds of the fight.

Yesssssss. More specifically on the running away part, yessssss. As a tank, we love it when a hunter or honestly any other class can kite for a few seconds if we're getting swamped. But please please please please.... Kite toward us or laterally, don't kite away and out of range. And especially don't kite out of range and then get mad when we don't taunt it off of you. This makes ducky sad.

This this this. I cannot STAND twitchy DPS who unload as soon as I so much as move in the general direction of the mob. Worst of all is frost mages who frost nova everything while I'm trying to gather it up into a nice, Swipe-able pack. :/

I have been tanking forever and just recently decided to try my first dps class. I rolled a rogue, mage, and hunter all to 30 and decided the hunter was just my favorite. Coming from a tank to a hunter was a transition that made me appreciate good hunters and mages that much more. I have found that I can quickly jump spin/disengage -> FD once mob chases me into the tank aoe spam to quickly bring any stray aggro back to me. Heck, I have even saved overzealous mages / healers who grab aggro this way by distracting shot first. I also don't understand why more hunters don't use their CC skills more proactively. Trap launcher plus ice trap on top of the healer saves them. Quick wyvern sting on a mob running around like crazy.. You aren't doing it to CC perse, just doing it to prevent the mob from running around like crazy, therebye giving the tank a few more seconds to grab it.And for the love of everything. Tanks, STOP PULLING THE MOB PACK OUT OF MY FIRE TRAP!!!! The hunter aoe fire trap looks like bad stuff, and I was guilty of it until I played a hunter, but it's a vital part of hunter aoe dps now that we don't have volley!

Also, please Hunters remember to use MD as much as you can. It is both a dps gain for you and good contribution for the group. If you see a stray add hitting the healer, MD it to the tank. I lost count of the time I've seen stray adds that the tank can't taunt and the hunter doesn't MD because he is too busy looking awesome in the meters. (and no, their MD is not on CD. I use oRA3, I can tell.)

@JorgesMisdirection is not a DPS gain. The rogue ability Tricks of the Trade does give the target a DPS boost, but Misdirection does not do any extra DPS for anyone, it just transfers threat. Hunters should not be using MD on cooldown, that's a DPS loss.Hunters should absolutely be using MD whenever threat is important. If a new add spawns that the tank hasn't picked up, if there's a tank swap to help the new guy get a solid lead, if the hunter's threat is just getting too high and so on. MD is definitely a wonderful tool that should be used when appropriate, but on CD is a bad idea. That uses up a GCD for no DPS gain. Is that GCD lost valuable if it puts an add on the tank instead of a healer? Absolutely. Is it valuable 3 minutes into Heroic Hagara and the tank has a gigantic threat lead? No, it's a waste then.Proper usage is wonderful, spamming it is bad.
