This is pretty much the best thing ever.
BSG ending? This is better.
M.A.S.H. ending? This is better.
The Best of Both Worlds? This is better.
Montoya asked:
Why don't we use the warglaives that the NEs have decoratively everywhere? (like Illidan's, but smaller and less flashy)
Blizzard has said in the past (a long time ago) that it wants to keep warglaives unique for players. I think it's entirely possible and indeed hope that we get some more glaives one day. They're a really awesome model, and even if they're a ultra-hard epic to get or another legendary, I'm sure the playerbase would welcome them.
Orkchoper asked:
Is the entire WoW Insider staff tacking March 6th off?
I have never actually finished Mass Effect 1 or 2, so I'll be working. As for everyone else, I believe they'll be sick.
/cough
Edges asked:
We have heard that Blizzard is trying for account bound achievements in MoP, do you think that will include titles?
It's really too early to say, but I could see it going either way.
My guess is that we'll see the philosophical ramblings from Ghostcrawler or Zarhym on this at some point. On one hand, account-bound titles make sense, especially because there are some more difficult ones that you're not likely to acquire again, and those would give your alt a bit of a status symbol and a way to let other players know you've completed the content. On the other hand, they are sort of special and tied to specific accomplishments that the hard work players put into the character has allowed them to gain.
It could go either way, really, and we'll just have to wait and see what the details are.
GT asked:
Ever notice the north half of the Eastern Kingdoms map looks like a puppy face? Whazzup with that?
I don't see it, really. To me, it looks like that thing living under my bed. His name is Fred.
Aspect asked:
Why do some people think it's ok to act so rotten in the LFR? I rarely see such awful behaviour in 5 mans.
I think it has a lot to do with the investment people are putting into their characters, along with the attitude and ego of the players involved. Raiding is still seen as a sacred thing to some -- a highly privileged activity that you can only do if you're good. People need to get over this mindset and start thinking of LFR as an entry-level activity for everyone.
Granted, some players in LFR are terrible. I've seen some crazy stuff. But the boss still died and the group still moved on. Those players who don't understand the mechanics of their class or the moderate to advanced elements of the game are exactly where they should be -- in LFR and not in a full-time raid.
If people played as badly in my guild's raid as I see in the Raid Finder, I would be nerd raging about wasting my time in heroic Dragon Soul. But they're not in heroic Dragon Soul; they're in the Raid Finder, the place to learn and have fun -- so it doesn't matter, and there's no need to get upset.
There's a time and a place to get mad about a warrior's deciding his ranged attack is the best mechanic for attacking the boss 100% of the time. The Raid Finder isn't it.

Better then the ending of Mash? You sir have lost your mind.
Side Note Question - I heard pets are going account bound in MoP. My brother and I share and account, he's been playing longer and has Baby Blizzard Bear. I WANT IT. Do I have to wait til MoP to get it or will I never be able to obtain a little polar bear of my own for my main? I wanna be the very best like no one ever was........

If you want to be the very best, learn the difference between then and than.
The more you know....

That value judgement seems to come from one of the 0.000001% of TV viewers who actually watched Arrested Development. Seriously, who could watch that pretentious, meandering, demeaning POS just for the 1 or 2 mildly amusing jokes?
Vdiamantepower Feb 9th 2012 11:49AM
NOTHING will ever be better than M.A.S.H ending.... Best freaking show ever
Noselacri Feb 9th 2012 11:50AM
Arrested Development is/was hilarious. An excellent combination of high and low-brow humor.
Kadzeroth Feb 9th 2012 12:05PM
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought John's comment about fans of Arrested Development was pretentious. You didn't like it, that's fine, but insulting it's fans is just dumb.

If you are sharing an account with your brother. http://www.wowhead.com/item=44819/baby-blizzard-bear
you can have it now, he just has to mail his copy of it to you. If he deleted it carelessly afterward. Don't know what to tell you
Arrohon Feb 9th 2012 3:30PM
I shared my mom and step-dad's accounts. I now have my own account and as such, no longer have my poor bear :`(

I am trying desperately to find the puppy face in the eastern kingdoms and I cannot :(
Artificial Feb 9th 2012 11:58AM
If you can't see the puppy face, you need to drink another...

It's looking to the left. I saw it right off the bat. Gilneas is the tongue, the two blood elf places above EPL are the ears. Heck, the starting area for the undead looks like a cute little nose!
rynxx Feb 9th 2012 3:40PM
I had to squint really hard but all I see is a bulldog. With a pipe.
eel5pe Feb 9th 2012 3:51PM
Okay, I thought the OP was crazy but after staring for a few minutes I totally see it!!! The two large lakes are the eyes, western tirisfal and northern WPL are the ears, the muzzle is Arathi + Hinterlands + the eastern part of Hillsbrad, the mouth the border between Arathi and Hinterlands, and the nose is the river through the Hinterlands. Wow. Now I can't un-see it.

I'm hoping all achievements are account-wide, along with whatever pets, mounts and titles come with them.
I think the way to make people who have done all the World Events on 10 characters would be to have a section on the achievements that says "Completed 10 times" and list the character names and achievement dates. That way it can still show that you put A LOT of time and effort into it.
But yeah I'm all for it. I want them to say that mounts in general will be account-wide as well. I live in constant fear of running a place on an alt that can drop a mount and end up getting it on him and not my main!
DarkWalker Feb 9th 2012 11:34AM
Making about everything that is either absurdly time consuming (insane), limited (feats of strength, seasonal events), or simply too hard (some of the raiding achievements) account-bound would have another nice benefit: it would remove most of the regret players feel about changing main characters.
This should, in turn, usher players into trying more classes and play styles, which could work wonders in reducing burnout and renewing interest in the game for old players (who, incidentally, are the ones most likely to have an extensive collection of achievements on their main characters).

I've got some pretty exclusive stuff -- original CE pets, Murky from the original Blizzcon, the two TBC titles, the Herald of the Titans title -- and I think it'd be great to see these used more often. I'm not diminished in any way when someone else has those goodies -- frankly, I want to high-five the folks who do.
Share away!
(And, frankly, if I didn't have to do a year of holiday achievements for each of my alts to get 310 flying, that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, either.)
RobynM Feb 9th 2012 1:19PM
My reason for wanting to see account-wide achievements? It'd hopefully cut down on the "LFM for (insert raid here), link X achievement to prove you're worthy." spam in Trade.
Cambro Feb 9th 2012 1:54PM
I never want to see "the Kingslayer" on anyone below level 80. Just saying. Some things should be practically sacred.
Evelinda Feb 9th 2012 11:41PM
I couldn't be more on favour of account wide achievements, but i really don't want to see the titles go account wide as well. I've got 8 chars at 85 right now (still working on dk and lock!), but i don't want them to all have access to my main's titles.
Maybe it's just me, but... The rest of them didn't earn those fancy titles, my druid did. I, as a player, have done certain things, sure, and i'd like that to be ascertainable by a glance at my achievements no matter what char i'm on. But my paladin never killed the lich king; my druid did. My paladin is not a kingslayer. My warrior is not an Argent Champion; the argent dawn thinks she's a chump. It's my druid that slaughtered hordes of undead to become their champion.
I'm not really a roleplayer, but i feel like there's some flavour to each of my characters, and i really think that rolling a level one, and having him spawn in his start zone as nubcakes the kingslayer, or merrymaker nubcakes, or even just nubcakes the patient, just doesn't work.
Schadenfreude Feb 10th 2012 8:52AM
I kind of have to give the side-eye to people who talk about their separate characters like they're separate people and how this one didn't earn something like that one did (and how they don't want to buy their alt epic flying because they feel like they're paying child support to that other character). Uh, your characters haven't done anything, they are pixels. YOU the person earned x title.
Anyway, I hope that all achievements, mounts, pets, titles, etc. go account-wide-- but that the display of some of them is mediated by class. For instance, my paladin's mounts would go into my account pool of mounts-- but only characters with the appropriate access (race/class/level) could select those mounts and ride them. Same with titles-- you'd need to be 85 to display the firelord title, for instance.
