Trade in your real currency for toy currency today!

Oh. Yeah. We did. We saw them at Comic-Con in 2009. I'm going to cut Blizzard a break on this one and assume it doesn't control DC Direct's production and distribution facilities. So ... DC, this one's for you. Holy crap, guys. Almost three years ago! Three!
Well, anyway, if you're looking to spend your hard-earned coins on different coins that aren't worth as much as the ones you started with, you can purchase them on the North American Blizzard Store for $49.99 USD per set or on the European Blizzard Store for £56.95.

I hope one of those coins is a Titanium Seal of Dalaran.. If not I'll be a sad person.

It looks like they're "just" the faction leaders. I might actually be willing to buy a Titanium Seal of Dalaran but not these.

I know that there is a different tax per state in the US - but that price difference is extortionate.
$49.99 = £31.71
UK VAT is 20% so just over £40 be nearer the mark?
Noyou Feb 10th 2012 5:14PM
Yeah, that seems way off. If that is the correct price for the UK, you guys are getting hosed. Even in Euros it would be 37.96 to $50 USD.

Do I detect a note of sarcasm/disapproval from the author regarding this product? Not my cup of tea but I can see how some people would want to own and show these off. Saying these are lesser value coins is just the same as saying we all pay $15 a month to look at colored pixels that don't even belong to us.

Nah, if someone wants them, more power to 'em! They're not something I would buy, but I have no problem with their existence and I have no problem with other people buying them.

"INCLUDES 24 KARAT GOLD-PLATED COIN OF THE ORC WARCHIEF: THRALL OF ORGRIMMAR (APPROXIMATELY 1.625" DIAMETER)"
Yep they took long enough... Coins aren't up to date anymore.

Either that or the coins should have come with a [Spoiler] warning

Whoa, the Frostmourne replica seemed cheap compared to these... xD

"...if you're looking to spend your hard-earned coins on different coins that aren't worth as much as the ones you started with..."
When I read the title (and this line), I thought "gold buying"? Well played, sir. Well played indeed.

Would sell like hotcakes if it was in game currency.

It's disgusting just how bad the price difference is between the US and EU stores. I'm in the UK, and was considering purchasing the Black Knight figure recently, and quickly discovered that (with the price difference between the two stores) I'd be paying more than TWICE as much if I purchased from my own EU store. It's criminal!

This could a fun goofy novelty item. I'd pay a little for a set of the Dalaran fishing coins. A horde/alliance coin collection with each coin representing currency of the race before they factioned up. Taking iconic but ordinary items out of the game world to sell in the real world is fine by me.

Looks like they had a work placement with nothing to do, made the poor bastard clear out a cupboard. He found some tacky crap..."quick sell it"
EidlonImp Feb 11th 2012 11:20AM
I'm holding out until these coins get a glen beck endorsement.
