Has anyone out there been playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning?
The story is kind of typical, the graphics aren't mind-blowing, but the gameplay is awesome. Talking like Kingdom Hearts type awesome, but with much more customization. You want to be a stealth tank? You got it! Want to wield a huge sword while also being able to cast lightning and fire? Right there! And my personal choice, a shadowcaster type: A melee mage who can either use stealth to sneak up and assassinate his enemies, or rain down fire and ice from a distance to obliterate his prey.
Good gods I can't remember having this much fun. It's games like this that make me puzzled as to why so many people fall in love with skyrim, dragon age, and mass effect. Sure, the production values of those games are higher, but the combat, the actual gameplay, is severely lacking compared to Reckoning.
I definitely recommend it to those of you who enjoy action-rpg gameplay like Kingdom Hearts or Dark Souls. Anyone else out there playing it?

I donno, my character in Skyrim wields an axe in one hand and lightning bolts in the other while stealthily sneaking up on jerks while wearing heavy armor. It's pretty flexible there in that sense. Ive also got a heavy armor wearing sneaking archery sniper, a dual casting mage shield wearing berserker mage and a good old straight up 'I wear heavy armor and have a sword, rar' guy too.
Kingdoms of Amalur's gameplay did look kind of ridiculously fun from watching Day9 and Felicia Day dinking around in it though.

Right now my rogue/mage has a pair of faeblades, which are like illidan's warglaives. AND he's also using something called chakram, which looks like a clone of Maiev Shadowsong's circular spiked weapon, except in Amalur that weapon is a medium-ranged thrown weapon (~15-20 yards). One button attacks with the blades, the other with the thrown weapon. And I can use a shield at the same time. And cast all sorts of spells. And dodge and run... basically it's insanely fun.
The story, even on my first play through, I'm kind of skipping a lot of it, there's not too many that are all that great, but the combat is saweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I am, and I'm definitely enjoying it. It's got some bugs to iron out and you can tell there were some "questionable decisions" that were made for the developers in order to get the game published, but it's not stopping me. The FoV and photosensitivity problems are slowing me down, though.
Not gonna lie; mods/addons can't come soon enough. WoW's and Skyrim's spoiled the hell out of me. XP But then we'll probably hit that "questionable decisions from the publisher" wall again. >:(
