BlizzPlanet goes to Toy Fair 2012 in New York

MEGA Bloks showed up with new prototypes for the World of Warcraft MEGA Bloks sets coming soon, with cool catapults and orcish scenary. Giant MEGA Blok Thrall was on hand to pose with fans. Insight Editions showed off its Diablo III: Book of Cain, and USAopoly made one of the biggest announcements with World of Warcraft Monopoly and RISK: StarCraft.
DC Unlimited continued to show off its figures for the World of Warcraft series, many of which were delayed for a long time for unknown reasons. However, these figures are coming, and they look great.
Check out BlizzPlanet for coverage of all of the licensed Blizzard products showing up at the convention.

My brother's had a booth in the toy fair! They make board games: http://www.triviathon.com/
If you like trivia but aren't that smart ... it's the game for you hehe

Unfortunately, the new Magni toy cannot be removed from its packaging.

I am actually excited about the Monopoly game.

Thanks a bunch, Mathew. I hope some of you in the tri-state area are able to attend the event.
The Monopoly: World of Warcraft, Diablo III: Book of Cain, DC action figures, and the Mega Bloks products look awesome. No photos can make them justice. You gotta see them in person.

I read on their site that you can't go if you're not in the "industry". If that's not the case I'd like to go since I'm in NYC!

@ epperson.christopher: aww, sad the Toy Fair show starts in a few hours (last show day). I'd have loved to ask. They relinked the facebook or twitter message I posted. Didn't hear of any corrections. Could you link it please to make sure?

The Monopoly game will be fun until the player using the Horde symbol just starts taking all your stuff and you can't do shit about it.
Noyou Feb 15th 2012 2:45AM
Unlike in WoW, Alliance players will have a say in that ;)
Swifteye Feb 15th 2012 10:07AM
That will only happen if the player using the Alliance shield doesn't play aggressively from the get-go; seeing as how the Alliance player automatically starts with 3x the money and properties as the Horde player, they should easily be able to secure the win before the Horde has *time* to take anything.
RetPallyJil Feb 15th 2012 2:35PM
But the rulebook will be written in Orcish so we never have a chance to understand the rules we play under.

Any place with better coverage? Perhaps one with a photographer that knows how to stop panning the camera and zoom in on the toys? I've seen the artwork. I've seen the cataclysm trailer, what I haven't seen, and what I want to see in coverage of a toy fair is, well, the toys!
Zapwidget Feb 15th 2012 4:41AM
alright, so it seems they aren't allowed to take close ups of the megabloks. Bah! I want my toons in blok form now!
medievaldragon01 Feb 15th 2012 2:20PM
... I was the photographer. You, meanie, you. lol
However, panning in and out? You are referring to the videos. In the Mega Bloks video I had instructions not to do a close-up zoom in. The DC Direct video I wanted to zoom in on the action figures but I was way too close anyway, so there was blur effect at closeup. Don't recall the other videos having problems.

I'd love it if they were to actually sell a Thrall set. I want to build my own bloky Thrall, but I am no where artistic/creative enough. It'd probably be too expensive for me anyway ;)

WTB Warcraft Monopoly so bad. We already have several different kinds of that game in this house; I want to play LotR Monopoly with WoW Tokens, dangit!

This will make a great gift for my son!
