lol. rubber chicken is on fire.
Kodiack Feb 14th 2012 5:07PM
Hideous as the other two.
I See What I Did There Feb 14th 2012 8:22PM
I agree with one third of what you said. I agree that this thing is hideous, but I thought the other two were rather nice looking.
Ilmyrn Feb 14th 2012 5:07PM
I... I think I'm buying that tonight.
It's... just... SO PRETTY!
Seriously, either of my Paladins would look friggin' sweet on that.

Looking at just the picture, I say to myself "meh." But when I saw it in motion, I fell in love. "Eibli needs that. It won't ever bring back her proper paladin charger (Elekk? FTN) but it will perhaps lessen the loss."
goldeneye Feb 15th 2012 3:27AM
I agree, it's very paladin-y
Crispn Feb 14th 2012 5:07PM
Is it a ground mount too?
incoming00 Feb 14th 2012 6:00PM
cant say for sure, but the tooltip says
Requires Level 20
Requires Apprentice Riding
its safe to say its usable as a ground mount like the drakes, which could mean its not usable in many instances that allows ground mounts due to size. i wont know for sure until i get home :D
Klausse Feb 14th 2012 6:29PM
Although it doesn't land (but hovers above the ground), the /mountspecial command causes it to do a backflip! Worth the price for that reason alone. :)

They should have saved this Asian styled model for MOP. I expect we'll see a thousand more versions created with this model's rig anyways,...
Argh, where's some footage of the Demon Hunter's Aspect in game? I want to see if you get to look like Illidan's new model.
Noyou Feb 14th 2012 9:45PM
Seeing how it moves and doesn't land, but hovers- it looks like it might be the dragonhawk skeleton. It looks bouncy as hell as it flies. I never had a dragonhawk so I can't say. The flying carpet looks bouncy but it's not too bad.
ElrithCC Feb 14th 2012 10:20PM
You may be right, I haven't seen it in motion yet or in game.
Schadenfreude Feb 14th 2012 11:44PM
It's a little different from the dragonhawk mount I think. The wings are kind of wonky, they feel like they're flapping... backwards, almost? I like it but I will probably wait for the wingless asian style mounts that we'll undoubtedly see in MoP.
followthategg Feb 14th 2012 5:08PM
Huh..That's a disappointment.

Can't upvote this enough.
Hmm, new mount with an awesome model and slick animations that also bears a stylistic resemblance to the next expansion datamined?
Person #1: Maybe it's an achievement mount for Tier 14!
Person #2: Oooh, could it be a limited time mount for the MoP pre-expansion event?
Person #3: Maybe it's tied into a class quest or 5-man chain!
Person #4: Could it be lore figure's mount?
Person #5: Perhaps its a reward for some as-yet-unannounced feature in Pandaria!
Blizzguy: $25 and it can be YOURS! Flashy, glowy, and sure to become an overnight eyesore as everyone and their mother prepares to show theirs off on top of the SW/ORG auction houses!
Person #1-5: ...
Blizzguy: What, you seriously expected us to incorporate this into gameplay? Come on, we're not a game company anymore, we're a corporation!
Snuzzle Feb 14th 2012 7:22PM
Yup. Just another mount for the "too much disposable income" crowd. Move along folks. Nothing to see here.
I wish they'd allow those of us broke/cheap players to acquire these Blizz store things. Aside from the "buy it with gold from someone who used money" cub. Like an achievement or a rare drop. Alternatives are awesome.

While I don't like paid-transaction mounts or pets...
Blizzards profits have increased since WotLK. WoW has lost 2 million players since wotlk.
How? This shit. If it keeps my game going and the design team working, I'm happy. Hell, this *should* make them design faster. I want MoP NOW :)

Ok, I understand they like money. Who doesn't? But let's just get this straight...
1. We have to pay for the game & its expansions individually, decent retail price (whereabouts of $15-$45 each).
2. We have to pay a monthly subscription of ~$15.
3. Microtransactions because 1 & 2 aren't enough for some reason.
I'm ok with microtransactions bringing in extra cash if people dont mind paying for cosmetic stuff. What I'm not ok with is the fact that I'm paying a sub to fuel development for the next expansion (which I'm going to end up paying retail for on release) instead of getting content for the current expansion (and let's be honest, cataclysm had abysmal content patches). If they aren't going to give me monthly or every other month content patches, then what am I paying for?
Another thing that bothers me about these micro-transactions is that they have to look shinier and prettier than in-game obtainable ones because they need to sell themselves. Imagine if the Heart of the Aspects used the Mottled Drake for example. It's a reskin of a drake model in the game already. Sure, some people would buy it but it's not as shiny nor as popular.
Really, there is a line and I think Blizzard is dancing on it.

I don't get the complaints about pet store items. Blizzard is just the same as any company. They need to increase revenue. There is NEVER enough revenue, and if you argue that they should be happy with their current income, I'll argue that you'll be a failure at business.
This is how the business world operates. If you have a problem with it, then try to change the business world (lul). Expecting Blizzard to not operate in the most efficient way to increase their revenue stream is ludicrous. They're in business to make money, not to be altruistic.

and people wonder why they have to pay $250 to transfer 10 characters off a dead server to just enjoy a game they already pay for.
Why, because people like you who think greed and profit are the be all and end all. Screw customer service, take their money, take all the money.
