Around Azeroth: My jealousy
"Some day," writes Duroxas of Twisting Nether (US-H). "Some. Day. As of this screenshot, I am three 6/7 clears of Firelands and a Ragnaros kill from the staff I've been working on since Firelands launched, and the staff that no one else (bar three very dedicated friends) has lifted a finger to help with since Deathwing decided to crash land into the Maelstrom. Every week or two, there's another blue dragon party in Orgrimmar and I get to sit around with my Runestaff and watch. Some day, it's going to be me up there on that giant holo-dragon ... it's just a matter of time."

Duroxas,
I'm Alliance but I understand your frustration.
Good luck.

One of the best parts of the game is wanting something, makign a plan for how you're goign to get it, workign for months on end, and then reaping your sweet reward.

And one of the worst is doing all that, getting within sight of it, and then having everything crumble out from underneath you.

On Mal'Ganis you would be even more jealous as the staffs are obtained multiple times per night. In fact I only got to sit in holo-dragon form for about a minute before being bumped.
Good luck!

We still raid Firelands. My guildies still want to get our Mage his Legendary. I can't promise multiple Legendaries to people, but we'll get this one.

My experience is that other players (even guildmembers) are not interest in helping anyone if they don't benefit from it themselves. I don't really understand that because I find some Firelands heroics more interesting than normal Dragonsoul where every encounter can be 9 manned comfortably.
Maybe you can lure some friends and guildies to help you if you focus on the achievements for the dragon?

That's been my experience as well. It was impossible to find someone to share the burdens of "I Pity the Fool" this past holiday, even from within my guild of over 200 people, and I ended up doing it by myself. I'm STILL trying to find someone who wants to help me run a BC raid for a dumb transmog piece. My new philosophy is to help out other people whenever I can even if it's inconvenient or pesky, little things like answering let-me-google-that-for-you questions in trade chat or running someone through to get a bronze drake with the idea that it'll come back to me in some karmic way. So far no luck lol.

Out of our 25 man raid group, we're able to scrounge together a 10 man (or two!) on offnights to get casters their staves. I believe we've completed two since DS came out, and will complete another one this week or next. If people in guild need a carrot on the stick, we usually will attempt a hardmode we haven't done yet or do an achievement. I think we've only needed to pug a spot only once when I've been tanking it.

I know your pain.
Look at it this way though. When you get your staff, you know you worked your ass off to get it, and the harder you work to get something, the more satisfying it is when you get it.

Duroxas,
at least you have a Runestaff for now. I'm still trying to pug my way into making stage 1 of that staff.

I think I can find time to run with you on Fridays so we can get you that staff.
I'll send you an in-game mail with my RealID and email address when I get a chance.

I feel your pain. As soon as DS arrived, we left Firelands and I've had to resort to trying to buy kills for the last stage of the staff. They want the benefits of having the completed item, but aren't willing to help get it. It makes me feel pretty unappreciated.
