The Queue: Heart of the Aspects
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
We're giving away a Heart of the Aspects mount! Go enter!
Luotian asked:
Are we going to have another jump in difficulty between Mists and Cata like we did between Wrath and Cata? Example: I recently leveled my Dwarf Shaman up to 80. When I went from ICC, where things died without a whole lot of difficulty, to Mount Hyjal I died. Repeatedly. I couldn't pull less than 3 things at a time, CCing things was a must, and they hit so much harder it was almost obscene. They seem to have tuned the starting zones to those in ICC gear-- none of my characters were, and I recall it being difficult every time. With RF making it *even more accessible*, will Mists be like that, making it something of a nightmare to level alts I don't run raid finder with up to 90?
This is an amazing question. Potentially yes, and potentially no. Here's the problem: We don't have all of the information yet, so everything is speculative. The first thing to consider is whether or not an item squish or some sort of power balance system goes into effect before or just after the Mists of Pandaria launch. If mudflation is taken care of with an item squish, then there will be a more gradual power ramp-up through the expansion, and you shouldn't see too many gearing problems. On the other hand, if no item squish goes through, Blizzard might be preparing to get rid of these issues by giving players who are setting out into new content "earlier" than they should be because of increased experience gain gear to compensate. We saw those full level 80 sets of gear that were datamined a while back, so who knows?
Personally, I'm hoping that the item squish goes through before Mists of Pandaria much like how the Cataclysm changes went through prior to the expansion's release, so that we have time to adjust to the changes. Yes, it will be jarring, but it's another necessary move. Hell, we don't even know if Blizzard decided on an item squish yet. Oh, the uncertainty!
The bottom line is that we don't know what type of power jump there will be because that very issue is being discussed within the sacred and hallowed Blizzard halls as we speak. Great question.
waleed asked:
Can some one explain exactly what happens to the aspects after deathwing dies?
Check out our Know Your Lore on this very subject. Shinae in the comments summed it up pretty well (and I think we're beyond spoiler range for Cataclysm): "Simply put, the Aspects sacrificed their immortality in order to kill Deathwing."
Fremastr asked:
Is there an phone app that will text me/alert me when my server comes back online?
I don't know if there is or not, but that would be a pretty cool app.
psycho_ryko asked:
After reading Dawn's article on class romances for Priests, I couldn't help thinking of ways to do a WoW Horoscope. Instead of Zodiacs, they'd be for classes. Once the idea popped into my head, I couldn't help beginning to plan out how to do it and all the details. My question is: Do you think anyone would be interested in something like this? What's your opinion?
Yes, I think it would be a very funny idea. In fact, it would be very easy to do! WordPress is free, Blogger is free, and Twitter is free. That's all you need to start. Remember, the only way you ever start something or create something is by doing it. Take a couple of minutes and make a WoW horoscope site.
WoogieNoogie asked:
Anyone happen to know what the locked door across from Old Ironforge is?
Old Old Ironforge.

The Heart of the Aspects -is- huge. But most of it is tail, and for once my Draenei won't look like's he's breaking the back of the poor creature.

Q for the Q:
I am wanting to use the new Real ID raiding feature to organize and lead old-school raids (Molton Core through Icecrown) but the issue is that I don't know where to find people who are willing to do this. Are there Real ID raiding communities springing up anywhere?
The Dewd Feb 16th 2012 1:20AM
Are you talking about doing it at 85 or at 60/70/80?
I would think that if you want to do it at-level, folks like Screams of the Past would be a good place to start. If you want to do it at the level cap, you might want to take your suggestion to the official forums to see if you can find people - though I don't know how many would be willing to give out their RealID info "just" for legacy raiding.

I dont know about readID communitys. RealID is my LOG ON details for wow and battlenet. I dont give that out lightly or to people who I dont trust implicitly. I am not sure how the rest of the wow community views it, but if they think as I do, it would be nigh on impossible to have a raiding community for that. Secondly why do you need a 'community' for old school raids. I see on trade at least 30-40 old school raids for achievements, transmogs and rep each time I log on. If that is a 'server' perculiarity or a general thing I dont know. But either way I personally would not ever consider joining a 'RealID' community ever.
Sorry if this is bad news.

There are Real ID raid groups being formed over on Reddit. Pop over to r/wow and do a search. They did Ulduar and ICC 25s last week.

http://www.lfraid.com/
The first site is a link to a public mumble server set up for public use (WoW raiding among others).
The second is to a site that (so far as I can tell) supports RealID raiding.

This was partially covered by an article posted on the sixth over here: ( http://wow.joystiq.com/tag/cross-server-raiding/ ). There are communities for Real ID raiding, and as the article suggests, when BattleTags go live this should help even more. Hope this helps you.

openraid.us
I tried LFraid.com and it was a good idea unfortunately the site needs more work. Many features aren't available yet. I could edit my raid group post (when the time changed). I couldn't search through what raids were alliance or horde etc. When I sent messages out no one respond to them (probably due to the lack of players returning once their post is up).
Openraid.us has reputations, quick raid queues, chat features, raid searchs and signups.
I see groups forming and going but there needs to be more foot traffice. The site is very popular in europe but I don't see as many US raids forming.

@Discolando: http://twitterland.enjin.com/ might be just what you are looking for. :)
Saz Feb 16th 2012 5:42AM
Twitterland Raiding does indeed sound like something that's right up your alley. Veemac10 has linked you the site itself and we use SleepyHams public Twitter Mumble for raids. It's proven to be a great community (the Twitter/Blogging community is full of awesome personalities) and isn't restricted to those of us who use Twitter and/or blog. Everyone's welcome!

Creepyist race/class/spec combo: go!
(For the record: gnome shadow priest.)
The Dewd Feb 15th 2012 11:09AM
Female Gnome Shadow Priest in Black Mageweave gear.
And yes, I have one. :D
Hob Feb 15th 2012 11:23AM
Male gnome anything.
Especially when laughing.
At you.
Dying.
Nina Katarina Feb 15th 2012 11:26AM
If your creepiest combo isn't an undead something, you're doing undead wrong.
Homeschool Feb 15th 2012 12:05PM
While I really want to say male Gnome (do NOT take your eyes of those little pervs for a second), something about female Humans has always given me the willeys. The empty eyes, the vapid smile... I feel like the body snatchers have come.
And they're watching me.
ravyncat Feb 15th 2012 2:02PM
I love my gnome shadow priest.
She is not creepy! She is cute and adorably evil.
My pick for creepiest would have to be worgen anything. I hate how they move. *shudder* The lurching and sniffing and then running on all fours. O_o;;
Any worgen is creepy to me.
The Dewd Feb 15th 2012 11:08AM
Yo Dawg, we heard you like doors to Old Ironforge?
Pan.m.davis Feb 15th 2012 11:13AM
Do you think they will ever fix hero to maybe be more like the trinket from rag. Instead of always giving haste maybe give your highest stat between haste mastery or crit. On my enhance sham I'm always sad to see hero or bloodlust go cause it means everyone else gets a buff by me
Shinae Feb 15th 2012 11:30AM
I hear ya. When I play an arcane mage (my low-priority alt), I don't like hitting Time Warp because haste is not a good stat for arcane. But I do it because the group expects me to.
A hot tip for any of you Alliance who come play a mage or shaman Hordeside: when someone is spamming party/raid-chat with "BL BL BL" hit Time Warp or (the original) Bloodlust. I can always spot former-Alliance when they say "hero" in a Horde group. :)
Bobby Earl Feb 15th 2012 12:04PM
I keep hearing this complaint and, though I may be mistaken, Bloodlust doesn't add the stat Haste, it increases casting/attack speed, which are two different things. As such, Bloodlust should benefit everybody.
