I think it was natural that itemization would go away with the apparition of reforging. And i will not miss it, personally, for one single reason: there's a clear priority in how good a green stat is for each class/spec, so there is really no choice: you have to get the items that maximize the presence of that stat.
If all of the green stats were on an equal footing, if the dps increase given by crit was the same as haste, or even the same as hit, just to say something next to sinful... that would actually allow for different stat-playstyles, and would make itemization a lot more interesting.
But that's not how things were, nor are now (not that blizzard can be really faulted... i can only imagine the nightmare that could mean balancing every green stat for every spec, both for pve and pvp).

Well, and the fact that reforging allows people to HAVE only one cloak or whatever for a tier is kind of nice. If that agi back has haste on it and your, say, Enh Shaman-self knows haste is crap, before it would have been "well, wait for this other agi cloak drop that has some other more useful stat on it." Now it's: reforge the haste away, done and done - sure there's a little left over, but that's fine for our purposes.

You're dead wrong. Just because Blizz tried to remove all possibilities of people being different or original doesn't mean it wasn't there or still can't be. Sure losing itemization was a tremendous blow and damn sure MoP talent systems will further remove us from being individuals. But the attitude of take it because it wasn't good enough anyway is just stupid. You should be asking for more itemization and more talent options. Sure there could be an easy mode for the less inclined or less interested such as yourself.
For instance, most every guide on resto druids shows crit and mastery as better stats than haste and even spirit. And most everybody says resto druids are the worst pvp healing class. But that's because they read too many guides and don't think. I stack my druid in as much haste as possible and it feels and acts just as epic as my class was in wotlk. but it's damn hard with the gear offered to me to find these haste pieces i want.
So just because you may not like creating a class that fits you and would rather blizz or a 3rd party form your opinion for you, that doesn't mean I need that as well. I started playing this MMO because it has been the best and most fun out there. Now it's just the easiest to jump into because Blizz along with yourself assumes people are too dumb. Or maybe Blizz along with yourself are the dumb ones.
