Blue Posts: Even more MoP talent clarifications

Zarhym is just taking over everything lately. Where is the floating skull going to end up next? Thanks to Mat McCurley for pointing out Zarhym's One Life to Live usurping.

Question: Invisibility and Greater Invisibility say that you're "untargettable". Does that mean that we're not actually invisible anymore?
Answer: No, you still turn invisible, just it has been. It still breaks on damage. You still are completely cleared of threat when you turn invisible (either after 3sec for Invisibility, or instantly for Greater Invisibility).
-----
We're currently trying a design where no tanks have AE taunts, other than Mocking Banner (which we intend to be used more as a tool to redirect streams of adds to you).
-----
Casting a third will replace the first. This is similar to how Wild Mushrooms works for druids right now.
By the way, two Runes of Power will not stack.
-----
No. Poisons crit chance will be based on your melee crit chance.
-----
Qustion: What are the developments for the Cat and Bear versions of Mangle/Swipe/Thrash/etc.?
Answer: Several abilities for Cats and Bears are slightly different depending on Cat or Bear Form. The abilities you're seeing in the talent calculator are the base versions that show up in your spellbook. Here are some additional details about their different effects in each form:

BTW, Any word on the currently missing Righteous Defense? Are all tanks across the board losing a taunt?

For Rune of Power if the mage has two already out will we be able to cast another one or do we have to wait till the first one is gone

So does this mean that Poisons will still be on the Spell Crit table? In other words, Agility will still not affect their chance to crit?

Answer: Several abilities for Cats and Bears are slightly different depending on Cat or Bear Form. The abilities you're seeing in the talent calculator are the base versions that show up in your spellbook. Here are some additional details about their different effects in each form:
- Mangle: In Cat Form, has no cooldown, costs energy, and generates a combo point. In Bear Form, generates 5 rage, and has a 6 second cooldown, which can also be reset by a proc from Lacerate and now Thrash ticks.
- Swipe: In Cat Form, has no cooldown, and costs energy. In Bear Form, has a 3 second cooldown, and is free.
- Thrash: In Cat Form, has no cooldown, and costs energy. In Bear Form, has a 6 second cooldown, and costs 15 rage.
- Skull Bash: Costs 15 energy or 10 rage, depending on form, and has a 15 second cooldown. The current talent calculator says that it has a 10 second cooldown, but that is a mistake. It is 15 seconds like most other interrupts are now.
- Stampeding Roar: Costs 30 energy or 15 rage, depending on form.
- Faerie Fire: Has a 6 second cooldown when used in Cat or Bear Form.
This takes me back.
My first world epic was found while adventuring with a friend. We were escorting Tooga back to Torta in Tanaris. (Try saying that three times fast.) While Tooga was merrily zipping through the countryside with reckless abandon; we were busy with keeping the wildlife from turning him into soup. During a lull in the escort I went back to loot as much as I could before we moved out of range. Lo and behold, I found an Icemail Jerkin.

My first world epic was the bow. I think it's called Typhoon? Anyway, that made up a large portion of my DK's flight training.
Noyou Feb 17th 2012 10:20PM
The only "word" purple I ever remember getting was the Tebuu sword out of a junkbox.
Snuzzle Feb 18th 2012 5:34PM
I don't even remember what it was (I want to say it was a Hurricane), I just remember it was off an ooze in Hinterlands while I was farming ... grave moss? Some herb that there were 3 nodes of in there and it was really rare. Damn near fell our of my chair.

Is it just me or has that header image been used 7,573 times in the past couple weeks. It's getting a tad old.
Pazazu Feb 17th 2012 10:14PM
Someone makes this complaint every week, but if you're paying attention you would know that header images for this column are selected weekly, so you see each one a total of 7 times.
Necromann Feb 17th 2012 10:15PM
But, it has only been used 33.3 (repeating, of course) times that it is supposed to be.
Noyou Feb 17th 2012 10:20PM
First it was just one dude. Then it was a judge dude. Then it was the cast of night court with the skulls put in. Now this. I would guess the skull is not going anywhere since Zarhym's icon is a skull. What say you, Adam?
Arrohon Feb 17th 2012 10:32PM
Technically they only use an image 5 times (it's only on week nights), but they have definitely overused the Zarhym theme. The dude's amazing, but it's getting really old... and creepy.
Zapwidget Feb 17th 2012 11:54PM
When they first started up this column, even when something interesting was said in blue, there would be 4, maybe 5 comments, and they typically wouldn't appear until late at night, or often, until the article was seen by those checking in for the Breakfast Topic.
If the skull has accomplished nothing else, it has gotten people to check the column. How many of you all posting complaints about the skull even knew this column existed before the Judge Alex shop?
Arrohon Feb 18th 2012 9:52AM
If you're in EST and maybe Central, you still likely won't see it until morning with the Breakfast Topic. It's usually 10 EST, but I've seen it be anywhere from 9 to 11. It at least gives me something to read in the morning since nothing good comes before the Q.

Holy crap! I've got an avatar!?!?!? I followed Shinae's instructions from a few days ago, but it literally took 2 full days to show up. Awesome comment system :P
Adam Holisky Feb 18th 2012 11:39AM
Images have very little to do with article traffic.
And, you guys really only complain about repeat usage of images on Friday's edition, so maybe I'll make the switch on Friday instead of Monday. :-p
That being said, next week's image isn't yet decided upon. I may ask over Teh Twitterz later today/tomorrow for submissions.
CursedMonk87 Feb 18th 2012 12:01PM
I mean, I don't mind the same header image week after week (even though this one's a bit much) but the thing is...in this post, none of the blues were even Zarhym. Kind of loses its meaning then.
Dominic Feb 18th 2012 2:03PM
I think the only reason this one got so annoying was that you guys had been running the Zarhym gag for a few days now, so perhaps it wasn't a great idea to run another Zarhym gag header on an article that was gonna have the same header for a week.
lavergne.joseph Feb 17th 2012 11:03PM
my 1st epic was the sword you built from Zul'Farrak.
lumacman Feb 18th 2012 2:47AM
same with me. I actually still have it and intend to use it for Transmog should I ever return to playing that warrior.
gymboy91 Feb 18th 2012 1:54AM
I'm glad they told us now, but I'm still sad that rune of power doesn't stack :(
Noyou Feb 18th 2012 3:51AM
How can you be sad for something you didn't even play in beta? Just curious.
gymboy91 Feb 18th 2012 11:27AM
sorry if this ends of being a double post (hit add comment then internet broke haha)
When I read it, I initially thought it could stack making it twice as good, so I was a little sad because I had an idea of what I could do with it in my head and now I can't...not really that big a deal, I'm not crying about it, but I was just thinking "awww, that stinks :(" haha

My first world drop was the gutripper. It dropped while I was pugging ZF(level appropriate) back in vanilla. My rogue beat a stinky warlock roll by 1. I immediately equipped it and spent the next couple days(and prolly all my maybe 101g) scrounging mats because I HAD to get lifestealing on it. I mean c'mon it's purple ao it needs a purple enchant right?
