The Queue: Pandaren dance

I'm getting pretty excited to see what MoP is going to bring for us. I think it's really just a short while until we get into beta territory, and after that, the release is soon to follow.
I'm already getting pretty bored of Dragon Soul -- I mean, we've got many of the hard modes to do still, but that's only so interesting. It's time for some Mists.
Tanddori asked:
Do you think the Toxic Wastling is going to go the same route as the Sinister Squashling? ie, go Bind on use?
Yes, I expect those to go bind on use. There could be an argument made that because they're a rare drop from a BoP item (which everyone has access to), they should stay BoP, but Blizzard has said that nearly all companion pets will go bind on use in Mists, and I'd expect this one to be the same.
Super-special pets such as achievement rewards and one-time event rewards might be good candidates for staying BoP. Think about how insanely high some of those items would go for on the AH otherwise ...
Wini asked:
How big is the population, roughly, of a battlegroup? I'm curious as to how big the pool is for LFR and random dungeons.
While we don't know the size in terms of people, we know that the battlegroup is not used in Dungeon Finder, Raid Finder, and Battleground matchups. Dungeon Finder and PvP Battlegrounds used to pull from the battlegroup only, but that behavior was changed a while ago.
Some people say it'll pull from the entire North American (or European) community, while others say pairings are just pulled from the data center in which the servers are housed. We don't really know those details. Still, in years of running the Dungeon Finder now, I can say I've never ran into the same person twice, so the pool is players is huge.
Vellekwitay asked:
So any idea what the Pandaren dances might be? Perhaps something eastern inspired, such as a kabuki performance or a graceful chinese ballet. I was actually hoping they would eschew dancing in favor of a kata or tai chi movements. Just a thought. What do you guys think?
I agree. It'll probably (should) be heavily influenced by eastern techniques. There are some other examples I've thought up that I think could be used:
That second video is obviously Bruce Lee, but that other guy -- I'm not sure if it's a young Chuck Norris or a young Matt Rossi.
Eresin asked:
Where exactly is the Well of Eternity? Can i go and see it (outside the 5-man)? Is it just crumbled remains that's left behind?
My understanding is that the Well of Eternity, as Shinae pointed out, is at the center of the sundering, so that's where the Maelstrom is right now -- and so no, you can't see it in modern-day Azeroth, because it's been destroyed.

I was thinking about the in-game relationships the other day, and I was wondering if we have any brother stories Horde side. The only brothers I can think of are the Bronzebeard ones and Malfurion and Illidan.
I'm a sucker for brother stories (I love TMNT because they're brothers, enjoy Thunderbirds for the same reason, and wish GRR Martian liked Fan Fiction so I could read stories about young Robb and Jon to my hearts content), I want to know if there are any good ones in WoW that I'm missing.

GRR "Martian" - lol - was than a case of "curse you autocorrect!" ?
Duerma Feb 21st 2012 11:18AM
Can't think of any good brothers, but Horde's got sisters and some very solid father/son stories.
Kierbuu Feb 21st 2012 11:24AM
Off the top of my head I can only think of two sets of Horde brothers-- Varok & Broxigar Saurfang, and Rend & Maim Blackhand. If you allow sisters into the mix then Rend & Maim had Griselda and the three Windrunner sisters are divided between the Horde and the Alliance.

Broxigar and Saurfang

Horde side there's Broxigar and Saurfang...I believe they're brothers. :-)
kingoomieiii Feb 21st 2012 11:25AM
Well, Saurfang USED to have a kid. And Thrall's grandmother is still hanging out in Nagrand.

Ugh, yes. Not on my phone, but my Nook. I have spell-check on the IE for mywritingspot, and I must have clicked it when I wasn't paying full attention. Martin, I meant.

It also has a few "brother" stories, like Grom and Thrall, who aren't related, but considered each other so.
Trevor Feb 21st 2012 11:29AM
Broxigar and Varok Saurfang?
You could almost call the relationship between Thrall/Grom Hellscream a brother relationship.
Shinae Feb 21st 2012 11:29AM
Besides the Saurfangs and the Blackhands (yuck), I can't think of any brothers in Horde lore. So many Horde characters don't have siblings (that we know of), and that's rather sad.
I think it's worth noting that, in Rise of the Horde, Orgrim and Durotan had a brotherly friendship.
(I cannot wait until April 1st for GoT season 2!!!)
Luotian Feb 21st 2012 11:34AM
@Shinae: Yes, they are an excellent example. I loved Rise of the Horde almost purely for them.
April 1st is my birthday, and my parents got HBO just so my siblings and I could watch it. I finished the first book recently, but after Wiki-ing the rest of the series I can't bring myself to read the second one. There isn't enough happy in those books. At least the TV show has some nice pacing in it.

Im pretty sure that when your doing the quest line to rescue thrall from the elements, thrall screams that cairne was his brother

Young orcs feed on each other and only the strongest survives.
yagamimoon Feb 21st 2012 4:05PM
Not brothers, but sisters: Gorgonna and Krenna in Grizzly Hills.

The new Well of Eternity is at the top of Hyjal under Nordrassil. :)
(Aka that big pink glowy lake when you port in)
Shinae Feb 21st 2012 11:32AM
That's just a weak remake.
Marbles Feb 21st 2012 12:59PM
The Puddle of Eternity.

To be honest I thought the Well seen in Well of Eternity was pretty lowly too. All other media depict it as this massive, giant-ass lake, rather than a pretty feature of the Zin-Azshari Park.

Well, that's just the nature of the game. Locations are not to scale. I think lore-wise, Stormwind City has a population of around 200k. But compare that little six-block section of the game to this picture of the 186k population Salt Lake City: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9e/Rainstorm_over_Salt_Lake_City.jpg
