From this comment, I can't help but think that one of the reasons 25s raids are dying off is because of bad 25s!
If you're having problem with afks, bad run back, getting started, loot distribution, you're in a bad 25s.
We've been raiding for three years and it hasn't been a problem (d/cs, yes, some nights, when only 25 people show up . . . but that's a 10 man problem too). People who are not ready to pull at start time are contacted by officers immediately, asked why, and informed that it's generally unacceptable. ["I get home from work 2 minutes before raid time" is of course, acceptable, we don't need you for trash, as long as it's *communicated* to the officers so they can explain it to the lazy people. "Yes, I know Smith is often afk for trash, Smith has a 2 month old baby. You don't need that sandwich that badly.]
