Just as a heads up for you all, Ghostcrawler is currently in the process of writing up a blog that will include some information pertaining to the changes that are on their way in Mists of Pandaria for stats, Resilience included. I would recommend keeping your eyes on our blog over the coming weeks to catch a glimpse of what is to come :D
I've collected many mementos throughout my adventures across Azeroth and beyond.

I'm interested to see what Ghostcrawler has in store for us in his post--his writings are always good to mull over. I'm particularly excited to see what he has in store for Resilience.

I'm really interested to see how they're going to implement resilience on PvE gear. Unless it changes a good bit from how it is now, I don't think it'll work too well. Maybe we'll see resilience not take up any of the stat budget?
Chris Gonzalez Feb 25th 2012 4:43AM
It was said during Blizzcon that Resilience would become a base stat now, to make jumping into PvP a lot easier for PvE-oriented players. PvP gear will add more resilience, but your crafted PvP gear and the current Conquest gear will have a much smaller gap of resilience between them, making PvP even more about skill.
Or that's the idea from Blizzcon, anyway. This comment would be irrelevant if the Dev team has changed its mind about how it will work.

@Chris
They are probably going to continue with the base Resilience. What he may go into is how they calculate that base resilience along with how it's going to affect gear in the future.
Let's say we implement it right now with 400 base and 2200 from gear. That's 2600 resilience. Is that OP? Will all gear be reset with lower resilience? How will that affect item budgets? These are just the things I can think of that should be looked at. GC has thought about it longer than I have, so may have more he's looking into.

Please say expertise is going away and that everyone will just need a similar hit rating. I know hit+expertise is a similar total number to casters needed hit, but it still sucks to have to worry about two caps.
And maybe an offensive PVP stat to counter resilience, remove the "spell" from "penetration" and just make it "increases damage against players by x%" while resilience "Reduces damage taken from players by x%" and make it a balancing act. Stack one and be a glass cannon or stack the other to be a pain to kill, or balance the two. Thatd be a bit more interesting than just stacking resilience and then crit for pvp at least.

The things you listed seem very Swtor themed as it were, so I guess a lot of folks prefer the way hit and "expertise" work in that game?
Noyou Feb 25th 2012 8:39AM
I never really had a problem with the caster hit cap. The poison hit cap and the dual wield hit cap is another story. I am one who likes things a bit simpler. Call it dumbing down if you need to, I think less is more.

And that's why everyone should play hunters! Melee hit cap without the other game!
:D............what?
Arrohon Feb 25th 2012 11:37AM
Let's start a 10-man of only hunters. Who's going to tank? Bears. Healing? We'll shoot you with arrows are are really injections of healing potions. Best part of the injections is that you can't OD. That means you can have as many of the hunter decides to shoot at you!
