The safe response to this is.....Yay!!
Noyou Feb 27th 2012 11:18PM
Yeah. I'm still going to wait until you can just select it from the drop down box before I even think of running it. I am far too non PC savvy to be messing with files :P

All you have to do is drop something like 3 files directly into your WoW install folder. They don't overwrite anything.

I want every hater that ripped Blizzard earlier in the day to post here and admit they were asses.
Teresa Feb 28th 2012 12:43AM
I didnt rip on Blizz, but I totally admit that Im an ass. =D
Noyou Feb 28th 2012 12:57AM
I am an ass too. What did they say about blizz? If it was anything about the 64 bit thing, that is still in the beta stage from what I understand.
Rebornbendar Feb 28th 2012 1:32AM
I am a complete ass. I ripped Blizz a new one on my guild forums.
jcampbell003 Feb 28th 2012 6:01AM
Yep, all that QQ for nothing.
slim1256 Feb 28th 2012 8:26AM
Heh - I was going to admit that I was an ass, despite not having ripped on Blizz for the 64-bit client issues.
Seems I'm not a unique and special snowflake, though I *am* in good company.

I was sad that I'd have to go back to a 32-but client.
Now I know it's not an indefinite wait.
Yay! Me happy!

all the better to get these kinks out of the way now, so MoP will be smoother
Strawder Feb 28th 2012 7:37AM
I was enjoying the 64-bit client, and was annoyed I'd have to undo what I did to get it running, but this is good news after all. Glad to see they put the gloves on and knocked it out.
Luotian Feb 28th 2012 7:41AM
Anyone that didn't see this coming is just silly. Seemed obvious to me they were just unsure how to directly patch it atm. Once its out of beta, I'm sure they'll get it.
Abbadon Feb 28th 2012 10:06AM
I don't see why they don't just include the x64 client files in the patch alongside the regular update. Everyone would have 2 .exe files in their folder to choose which client they wanted to run (until the in-game toggle is available).
So... What exactly are the instructions for updating the patch now?
1) Remove old x64 files / get patch update / get new x64 files when available
or
2) Get patch update / get new x64 files and overwrite previous
node11 Feb 28th 2012 4:05PM
Blizz does not include the x64 files because they are beta.
1. To update remove the following files from your WoW folder
Battle.net-64.dll
MovieProxy.exe
WoW-64.exe
2. Download current patch
3. Download current 64bit client
