I love the work and effort put into the new 1-60 content, I really do. Good stories, better flow (no more getting stuck in Hillsbrad at level 23 as a forsaken character, seriously, you just ran out of quests, you had to run off to the Barrens...yippe(!)), and far more engaging. All of those were pluses for the 1-60...However, I honestly feel that telling a post Wrath story was a mistake. While the good stories were few and far between in the original content, it mostly felt that way because the storytelling was so poor.In hindsight, I honestly feel that the 1-60 content should've remained as pre-TBC stories. Obviously it needed to be greatly improved, there's no denying that, but choosing to fragment the lore progression as they have just feels painful to me.We are also losing the nostalgia that we had initially as well, and for new players, there's no nostalgia at all, because they never got to sample any of it. Never will a new player know about Tirion's son, or really understand his status as an exile. Never will a new player understand the status that Bolvar held amongst the Alliance, or why he is treated with reverence during the Wrath gate quest line.I'm not trying to say that the new stories we got should never have made it into the game, just that they should have been used as level 78+ content. A true "return" to the old zones.

I also recognise that all the new races that get added over time feel secluded during the starting experience, and unfortunately the only decent way to make them work in the old content is to treat it as a story being told to them by a veteran of the events of the zone, lorekeepers, if you will. NPCs who have elected to explain to these races why things are as they are in these areas. It may seem like a cop-out, but it feels far better than removing stories/npcs/objects that help some relevance to the game's heritage. Likewise, it would stop issues of immersion breakage from constand jumping around. Seriously, the playing as a Pandaren in MoP is going to have a severe accordion effect. MoP > Cata > TBC > Wrath > Cata > MoP.
