I deleted the said files. downloaded the new ones and extracted the files into my folder. It wont start, tells me
"this beta 64 bit ver of WoW does not match the installed Ver of the game.
You must acquire a new 64 bit executable in order to keep using the 64 bit, or instead use the 32 bit."
what gives?

To answer the question, you have to complete the update process with the files removed before you add the files back in. Learned this one the hard way.
