The glyph of the future

For myself, I want a glyph that lets me dual wield polearms with Titan's Grip. I have a Hellreaver, and dang it, I want to swing two of those beasts around. (Well, technically, I have a Kiril, but transmogrification means I get to have a Hellreaver.) I'd also like to see a glyph that reduces the cooldown on Heroic Leap out of combat so that I could use it like Blink, a glyph that caused me to grow every time I hit an enraged state (which is why I grabbed that Kiril that was on the DE chopping block, frankly), and finally, I'm dying for a glyph that makes Mortal Strike automatically add the Rend effect so that I never have to Rend manually again.
What do you, the viewers at home, think? What glyphs do you want to see in... the future!?!? (Imagine this in my best Criswell impression.)

A glyph of some kind that will allow a lock soul stone to return the target to full health. In addition the dk one if it doesn't already.

"I really wouldn't mind if they created glyphs that really changed the look of spells..."
There already exists a glyph for mages that does something like that. It changes the spell that your mirror images cast to match your spec ( without glyph they always cast frostbolt). There is also the glyph to change polymorph from sheep to penguin or monkey.

I like this idea. Glyphs could do more than enhance class and spec abilities.
I like the one in the post below as well - for disenchanting. Though I think having a decent proc of getting extra mats for the enchanter who is providing the auto-DE should be part of the built in system. (This would take nothing away from the person winning the DE roll, but would just generate mats that would be given to the Enchanter). Right now, enchanting kind of sucks, so it would be nice to have something like this.

Glyph of Compensation
Disenchanting an item for another player through the auto-disenchant option in the loot system generates a small amount of currency for the disenchanter. Amount scales with player level and item quality. Usable by all classes.
Glyph of the Master Angler
Your fishing casts now take 1/2 the time to complete. Usable by all classes.
Glyph of the Archaeologist
After surveying, your appearance is changed to resemble Harrison Jones for the next 10 minutes. Any non-combat pet summoned will resemble Short Round for the duration. Usable by all classes.
Glyph of the Innkeeper
When used, your hearthstone will allow you to choose any inn as its destination. Usable by all classes.
Glyph of the Sinister
Your main hand is switched to the left hand. Usable by all classes.
Glyph of Interest

Glyph of The Flag
Your receive a new ability that when toggled causes your character to appear to be carrying the flag. Usable by all classes.
Glyph of the Unmoved
Your character will remain still through the duration of all effects which cause you to lose control.

That pun was bad and you should feel bad.
Greg Mar 4th 2012 8:08AM
Not sure to which pun you are referring.

The Harrison Jones one for Archeology. Its in reference to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and two in game NPC's.

Give us some Cosmetic Glyphs please.
Something like Tattoos!
Or one that lets a Worgan Druid transform into a Pure Wolf Form instead of Cat - no changes to the attacks just the visual form, feels kinda odd for a werewolf to transform into a cat for feral combat I'm always afraid I'll only change half way and end up chasing myself all over the zone.

Just thought of another one, usable by lvl80+ Glyph of "Sleep under the Stars" the Hearth Stone now has two functions,Right click sends you to the Inn, Left click pitches a tent with cot you can sleep on and get the same rested bonus....frivolous yes, fun yes especially if you were flagged when you went to bed in your tent.

Glyph of Undead Menagerie
Summons a random undead in place of your ghoul.
Basically it would summona random undead with the same powers of a normal ghoul.
Abomination, Geist, Skeleton Warrior, Undead Vrykul (vargul), Ghouls (both models),Zombies, and Val'kyr.

For Hunters: A minor glyph that's actually worth using.
Gordal Mar 3rd 2012 2:20PM
Glyph of Feign Death is useful anywhere, Glyph of Revive Pet is also always useful (And this is coming from a hunter whose main pet has Heart of the Phoenix), and Glyph of Scare Beast is an absolute JOY to use in PvP against druids.
Really, hunters have some of the most useful utility minor glyphs.

While I'd love to see a lot of glyphs, they would be waaay too OP and unrealistic.
However I think it would be interesting to 1) make the various mage bombs as they are planned for MoP, into Spec specific abilities and then 2) allow a glyph to allow you to change it out if you wish. What I'm thinking is, better synergy within the specs (each bomb would be better integrated into the spec, for example, right now LB works Combustion and Impact but does not in MoP because it's not Spec Specific). This way, the Elementalists (and anyone else) could choose.
I wouldn't mind actually, seeing a special glyph (maybe right in the middle of the interface) where certain spec specific abilities (generally not the main nuke or anything) that could be added. The devs could maybe choose one or two from each spec. I'm just thinking mage right now - not sure if this could possibly work with other classes. And yes, it could be a balancing nightmare but give people a bit more freedom. But for those who don't want to add anything from any other specs., they could allow the middle glyph (super-glyph?) to be used as a slot for an extra existing major or prime glyph. So, you're not an elementalist and you don't want Dragon's Breath to be a part of your Frost mage's abilities? Add another frost-related (or general mage) glyph instead.
I want a glyph that allows me to eat my mage food faster, kind of like the fruits you get for the Molten Front dailies. People move through instances and LFR so quickly, it feels like it takes forever to get my mana back with food. I have to evo sometimes when I'd rather save it for in-combat. (This could apply to tables for everyone, so that any mage food anyone gets can be consumed quickly and your health and mana regeneration from it is much faster with the glyph).
I know Blizzard said it would be difficult but I would like to see my Warlock's flame spells turn green - or possibly purplish. If not that, at least a deeper red so they look less mage-y.
I'm sure I'll think of more when I'm in the game playing. :)

One for Enhancement Shaman.
Glyph of Bungee Totems.
Your totems are tied to you so that you don't have to dismiss / re-summon them.
Using this glyph locks out your new re positioning spell.
In general:
Glyph of quick spec shift.
Allows you to change specs instantly with full mana / energy. Has 2 hour cool down.
This isn't a glyph but a way to fix tabards: change tabards to useable spells like mounts, add a section to the character panel to change them like titles. Easier to track, makes the expensive guild ones a mini-gold sink.
Hob Mar 3rd 2012 5:15AM
Ironic how talents are bad because there's no choice involved and everyone just looks up the best spec online, but glyphs are good because there's no choice involved and everyone just looks up the best prime/major/minor glyphs online.
Hmmm...
Snuzzle Mar 3rd 2012 12:19PM
For Prime I agree with you. For Major, they really come down to playstyle, and Minor are basically useless/fun/cosmetic. Blizz even said they don't like the way there are two or three "best" Prime glyphs for every spec and might be doing away with Primes because they like the choice involved with Majors/Minors.
Kyrt Mar 3rd 2012 6:29AM
Actually - I'd like to see Glyphs undergo a major overhaul.
As things stand, the share the same mechanics and purpose as the new talent system. More, they actually copy the Path of the Titans system almost exactly....1 strand instead of 7, 6 ranks instead of 10 but otherwise identical save they use class specific "glyphs".
Path was scrapped because of its similarity to Glyphs and the new talent system is in the exact same position.
I think having two systems so similar in design, purpose and mechanics will simply mean both end up weak.
