Sylvanas vs Velen - who would win in a fight?

Sylvanas- she would cheat.

Velen can see the future. That's preposterously good in a fight - or miraculously avoiding one. Remember that he lived through Sargeras attempting to corrupt and then kill him personally.

Going on a pure numbers stand-point: if our modern tanks (and, heck, tanks at the beginning of the expansion technically) can survive incoming blows from Sylvanas, it means the damage she dishes out can't be that much higher than another modern player. With that in mind, as they're both Boss-level characters, they have an explosively large health-pool. Going back and forth attacking, a fight would take at least ten to fifteen minutes. Thinking like that, with Velen as a Draenei, his racial every three minutes alone would probably be enough to keep him alive indefinitely, if we assume he would never use a healing spell (and if we also assume Smite and the like would treat Sylvanas as a humanoid rather than an undead, and that Velen could also not Shackle her and so on).On one corner we have a ranger-general, and on the other we have arguably the most faithful follower of the Light in existence, who has also survived relentless pursuit from the Legion before Sylvanas was probably even an idea. The dude certainly has her on experience. From a pure lore stand-point, additionally, I think Velen has the upper-hand by virtue of simply being a priest. And sure, she can stay alive a few additional times with her Valkyr ressurections, which would in the end matter very little when all Velen has to do is blink his way through whatever damage Sylvanas dishes out. Unless, of course, Sylvanas decides to deploy the plague on Velen, at which point we have to ask if Velen would be able to cleanse it or not and even if he couldn't, if the damage would be enough to prevent him outing her before him. It's certainly interesting to mull over, but the more and more I think about it the more obvious it just seems to me that Velen would win.

The only person who complains about cheating is the loser. I would gladly cheat in a battle of life or death.
Well, since Velen secretly accepted Sargeras' offer of demonic power and he has been secretly leading the unwitting draenei across the universe in an attempt to find intelligent life and sacrifice it to the Legion (think Silver Surfer / Galactus relationship), I'd say Velen would definitely call upon all the powers of darkness to win the battle. Sylvanas, on the other hand, would make sure that her people safely evacuated the site of such a horrible, horrible battle.

@Razion,As much as i want to agree with you on Velen winning, my undieing love for Sylvannus makes me stubborn. Sure Velen is probwbly the greatest followe of the light, with the most knowledge of it, who says it gives him unspeakable power? As being a preist right down to his loving core, i don't think he has the ability to actaully harm others. He might be the greatest healer on the planet or he can be just a herald, a spokesperson of the light. Even though Sylvannus is an undead, vulnerable to the affects of holy magic, she is powerful, even by Scourage records.(the little killed by Godfrey was to show that Sylvannus mortal, like us) Given the fact that she has spent years uiliminating thr Scarlet Crusade, she might now eveery tick in the book about Priests. She has thr ability to wicked poisons, and extreme aim, dark magics and even being of two forms. Her Banshee self has led her to you many abilities in bodily form. She even has a one shot K.O. Arrow which she can use, this is probably not true but i have been trying to read around this. If in a "fair" fight between them, i would not expect Velen to simple call down the Light to purge the land and instantly vaporise Sylvannus. Even if he did have th ability to use harmful spells, Sylvannus is a damn good ranger, if in woods or even open ground, i would hink she would still be able to dodge most spells(if they are not instant cast.) If Velen is a pure healer, say disc speced, his sheilds would be powerful, but not powerful enough to stop her magics, even if it is, we know not of what Velen can actaully woth his gifted powers. Lets say Velen is the traditional preist who pops a sheild and casts a ultra smite, Sylvannus would probably be like a hunter, say MM specd with some shadowy spells, she can stil unload a lot of attacks by the time Velen is down casting, she even has an interupt that could probably bust some ears. With Velen staggers around, she can simply put that K.O. show in him and done!...or Velen could simply block it and hit her with ultra smite, they both have a good chance of winning, without the enivroment or time of attacks, i would say possibly 50-50 chance of them winning if they stick with fighting one on one. Please dont scream at me for saying the ubsurd, but this is just a theory.

" who has also survived relentless pursuit from the Legion before Sylvanas was probably even an idea"@razion: Velen has survived relentless pursuit from the Legion before the night elves were an idea, let alone the highborn, let alone the hegh elves, let alone Quel' thalas, let alone the leven rangers, let alone Silvanas. :P
