Darkmoon Faire achievement progress reset yet again

Remember that big controversy in January when all of the progress people had made toward the big Darkmoon Faire achievements was reset? Remember how it happened again a month later, but we were promised that it would be saved from that point forward? Well, you can probably guess what happened:
Orlyia -- Issue - Darkmoon Faire
Orlyia -- Issue - Darkmoon Faire
February's Darkmoon Faire achievement progress status was cleared prior to the launch of March's faire. Any achievements that were started but not completed have had their criteria reset. Completed achievements are unaffected. We previously announced that this was resolved for this month and going forward, unfortunately, that did not happen and this is still being investigated for a resolution.
The following achievements are most likely impacted:
The following achievements are most likely impacted:
- Darkmoon Defender
- Darkmoon Dungeoneer
- Darkmoon Despoiler
At this point, I'd recommend to everyone still working on these achievements that you save up your artifacts and turn them all in during one Faire, in order to ensure credit. For the goblins among us, however, this means it's still a good gold-making opportunity, so check out our guide to profiting off the Darkmoon Faire.

Well, that's super obnoxious. I was wondering why my main didn't have it yet. Wonder what it is that is giving them such a difficult time.
Starlin Mar 5th 2012 12:14PM
If we are going to lose achievement progress when everything goes account wide then that's a deal breaker.
This is data loss. Those quest items are not quick to farm and expensive to replace from the AH. Hopefully a solution can be found.

I am really not that upset actually. Maybe I am in the minority, but it was nice having an active list of what ones I turned in or not.
I used it as a shopping list to know which ones to buy nearing the end of the faire. (Never bought the treatise too expensive).
I just completed the achievments this month. Next month I am going to have to write down which ones I turned in.
Shinae Mar 5th 2012 12:25PM
The Treatise has really come down in price since they fixed it to drop from the latest heroics.
Shinae Mar 5th 2012 12:25PM
This is my surprised face.
Pam Mar 5th 2012 12:51PM
I think I'm going to have a heart attack, and die, from not surprised.
Blayze Mar 5th 2012 2:25PM
Looks more like a rocket.
Nobar Mar 5th 2012 12:25PM
Perhaps this will give them some consideration to shortening the time in between the faires. While it doesn't affect me (got it last month), I bet it affects alot of others.

It is just a minor nongamebreaking thing but…
This is loss of data, what if it was your ulduar drake that the game forgot you earned? This continual loss of saved progress is making me nervous.
Bapo Mar 5th 2012 1:02PM
That's a bit different. Since you got all of the achieves and none were left in progress.
morncreek Mar 5th 2012 3:45PM
I actually had that happen on my death knight - the data loss, not the drake. Asahel the Explorer was suddenly just Asahel after the Shattering patch. The Northrend map was still explored, but the rest of Azeroth was completely blank as was Outland. Flight-points were gone.
!!(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
Of all my Explorer characters, Asahel was the only one affected. That's one too many, but it could have been worse... I can only pray that, when achievements are account-wide, that Blizzard has a system that will actually track the existence of achievements. Currently, if an achievement mysteriously disappears, you are Out Of Luck.
morncreek Mar 5th 2012 3:51PM
Or, with the Keymaster achievement, a Blizzard dev decides to nuke it and you are even more Out Of Luck.
grollix Mar 5th 2012 12:37PM
Just do what I did - first time it happened I had screenshots of the completed achievements. When they got reset, I submitted a ticket with said screenies and presto - got them restored.
Cause I will say this - NO ONE should have to redo achievements over and over and ooooovvvvveeeeer again...
So take screenies and save yourself the hassle and time; it worked for me.
luckily I was not affected by this blunder this time - everything is still intact.
Duerma Mar 5th 2012 1:47PM
Holy crap, for serious? BRB, screenshotting EVERYTHING.
shotiechan Mar 5th 2012 1:57PM
I'm doubtful this will work for most people, as GMs aren't actually supposed to accept screenshots, because they can be doctored too easily by image editing programs.
brain314 Mar 5th 2012 8:52PM
The GMs are professionals, I'm sure they can tell by looking at a few pixels.
incoming00 Mar 5th 2012 12:48PM
why not just make the darkmoon faire a permanent place which will require no resets, therefore no one will get their achievements resetted again?
Pam Mar 5th 2012 12:54PM
the fishing pools would be too OP for being open all the time. The QQ would be too large.
Duerma Mar 5th 2012 1:46PM
The fishing pools would be too OP... liiiiiike the pools in Tol Barad? >.>
raposo02790 Mar 5th 2012 12:51PM
