I think starting Legendaries should be restricted to a rare, expensive, or difficult achievement-earned drop (not a quick pick-pocket on a easy to reach boss), followed by a long solo process of questing and gathering. None of this Raid-grinding for one Orange. That being said, our guild has had a good time helping our Rogue progress through his Daggers, but our Mage is stuck with the stage-two staff and we never run Firelands. Unless they introduce some guild Legendaries (perks, banners, never-ending feasts/flasks?), the weapons for individuals need to be a completely individual effort that pushes them to their limit as a player. It reminds me of that quest chain for the warrior's level 40 weapon or the Hammer of Zul Farrak, which required some effort and solo-proficiency to complete. Just multiply that to leave them for the best of the best, not just the grindiest of the grindiest or the richest of the rich. Maybe something to the level of Gladitor status for PVEers. Who knows?
