Well, I would love to "buy a level 80" but I do not see why Blizz is doing this. Cata is mainly all old world content, they ut all that work and are just letting you skip it, letting you fly over it. It seems odd to me. It seems weird that Blizz does all this work then complains about it. Everyone is only in 1 major city. Were only there because thats where you put trainers and portals. People skip content. Its because you allow us to fly over it and never see it. Sorry for the lil rant. But, would I pay for an 80? Or atleast to level an existing alt to 80? Most likely, or I would wait and hopefully earn some money from the Diablo auction house.

"Well, I would love to "buy a level 80" but I do not see why Blizz is doing this. Cata is mainly all old world content, they ut all that work and are just letting you skip it"It's simple. You're talking about two completely different concepts that can exist simultaneously.a) 1-60 revamp. This is directed at re-playability and ensuring brand new players don't hate the first 60 levels and instantly get bored/frustrated and quit the game.2) SoR changes. These are directed at old players who can now be convinced to come back to play with their friends. The free 80/transfer, just ensures that these people aren't turned off by the prospect of paying transfer fees or having to level another character from 1-85 just to be on their friend's server.Nothing about the SoR says, "We don't want people to play the 1-60 revamped game at some point." It just says, "In this one specific instance, it will be beneficial to allow some folks to skip that once."

"they ut all that work and are just letting you skip it, letting you fly over it. It seems odd to me." I find this odd too, yet they seem to do it every expac. Shatt and Dalaran is living proof. Not only do they not want you there, they took all the portals out (and put one back) so you would have to work twice as hard to get back to the older content.

I know what you mean, erik, but as cutaia says, the SoR benefits are less 'rewards' than they are ways of minimising the difficulty of playing with your returning friend. The whole point is that you bring back someone you enjoyed playing with - now it doesn't even matter if they quit playing three years ago, or if they were on a different faction/server. They're boosted to 80 so that they're in at least the same ballpark of content as you.
