Breakfast Topic: What's the most killed boss in the game?

In all of WoW, what's the most killed boss in the game? I think it's got to be a low-level one, sub-60, simply by merit of the fact that those bosses have been around the longest. Furthermore, they get killed by more characters. Those of us who get characters to about level 20 before deleting them will probably have done Ragefire Chasm once, so maybe it's Targaman the Hungerer.
But what counts as a boss in this context? If Hogger could count, he'd take it easily. I mean, he is a boss in his new home in the basement of Stormwind, sure, but he hasn't been for long.
What about raid bosses? Who's the most killed raid boss in the game? It's got to be the first boss of a given instance. Maybe Lord Marrowgar? I reckon, based purely on subscriber numbers, that The Lich King will be the most killed end boss.
What do you think?

It's gotta be Baron Rivendare of Pre-Cata Strath.
Running Strath again and again during Vanilla...
And even after that, level 70s and 80s farming him for his mount.
No contest.

While true, it's also true that the Baroness, Nerub'enkan, Maleki, and Ramstein must all be killed before one can engage the Baron. Which would suggest that their boss kills must be equal or greater to the Baron's.
Further, assuming that some at-level parties wipe and break up before reaching the Baron, the Baroness must have been killed more times than the Baron.
I would throw my hat into Stratholme being one of the most farmed instances, though.

So, why did you stop to kill him? Have you got your mount?

This is one of those post that prove that adding "no contest" or "debate over" does not make your statements automatically true. :)

Between 3.0 and 3.2 there was a very widely used glitch where you could "open" the gates without killing the other bosses.

It says so in your character statistics.
Lets compare!

On my main:
Grand Magus Telestra - 18 times
On my only other level 85 alt:
Morchok - 12 times
Zanv Mar 11th 2012 8:10AM
Attunmen the hunter or A'lar - something like that with a very rare and desired items - perhaps the Stratholme undead bosses

Al'ar doesn't drop mount, Kael'thas does)
I can agree about Attumen being one of most popluar raid bosses, since it's easy and drops a mount.

Attumen doesn't drop a mount... I know this after killing him once a week for the last 3 years. :(
Sigh... but I'll be back in there next week.

I would think it would be Captain Cookie (or formerly Edwin Van Cleef) in Deadmines. Probably close behind would be Lord Godfrey in SFK.

The problem with bosses in places like Deadmines, RFC or SFK is that for 5 years they were largely unavailable to the opposite faction. Lowbie Nelves weren't exactly waltzing through Orgrimmar to get into RFC at level 16 before we had Mass Summoning and the Dungeon Finder. Likewise, DM was too far out of the way and dangerous to get to for Horde players until they outleveled it.
I'd bet the "Most Killed" would probably be a boss in a dungeon that's situated in a fairly neutral leveling zone like Wailing Caverns or RFK. At the same time, a lot of those lower instances get outleveled fairly quickly which would put the ball in the court of the higher level Vanilla zones.
My money is on something like Stratholme or Scholomance, maybe ZF or any of the early bosses in BRD.

Largely unavailable? Almost every time I ran deadmines, pre-LFD I saw a horde group going in as well. With DK's and meeting stones, it was more available then you might remember. I totally agree that more people run it now at the appropriate level, but back then people ran it a lot too, both factions. Probably one of the top 3-5 dungeons in the game.

I'm still gonna go with Mograine in Scarlet Monastery. You could skip the other bosses in there if you wanted and furthermore the bosses in it are the same post and pre Cata (not so for Deadmines).

Nah .. I don't think it would be ICC.. marrowgar until the 30% nerf was still a pretty good challenge at the launch of ICC for a lot of guilds.
I think it would probably be the spider boss in Naxx.. was killed by a lot of guilds still wearing tier 6 in some cases or blues.

The guy when WIntergrasp first became available. Torvon the Ice watcher or something like that.
Silversol Mar 11th 2012 2:15PM
Archavon was the first one (stone). 4.1 brought Emalon (wind), 4.2 Koralon (fire), 4.3 Toravon (ice).
4.4 would have been Kerdavon (heart).
Cambro Mar 11th 2012 3:10PM
Slight correction, it was 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3. :)

Didn't Blizzard use to maintain a top list of various categories back in Wrath? Those were fun; the Defias Pillager was listed as one of the top 3 or 5 dangerous mobs in the game, due to the number of players it killed, Loken was the most dangerous 5-man instance boss...stuff like that. Wish Blizzard brought that listing feature back.
