I'm of two minds about LFD/LFR. I LOVE the convenience. I mean, the guild I'm with hasn't been able to raid normals until this past week due to all kinds of RL issues for one member or another of our core raiding team. LFR filled that gap nicely. However, at the start of Wrath, I met some really greats tanks through running dungeons (as a healer) for the daily heroic, back when you had to form a group "manually" on your own server. I developed quite a nice friends list of tanks, including three that became in-game friends. Due to running dungeons with one of those tanks, I was invited to a raiding guild when they were short of healers at the start of Wrath. That would have never happened had LFD been in place back then. I would have never experienced all of the raids in Wrath, including most of the hard/heroic modes, and would have continued being a casual player who rarely raided.
