The Queue: WTB more warlocks

I was reading this thread over on the official forums, and while I don't agree with everything said in it, I can agree with the conclusion: There need to be more warlocks.
Maybe WoW Insider should have a warlock awareness week or something. We'll promote safe healthstone sharing or proper DoT'ing or something like that.
Maymer asked:
What do YOU all hope will be announced/shown/demonstrated through the art of interpretive dance at tomorrow's press release?
Do you want to see the new faction mounts, dance, zone details?
Maybe more on how the monk class will work, or greater detail on the talent calculator?
I personally am hoping they reveal updated character models for all the Pre-Cata races myself. That, along with a date for beta invites (the sooner the better), and showing us some of the new mounts (come on flying nimbus cloud!)
My bets are as follows:
- New character models. I just don't see how Blizzard cannot do this, especially given the moves of the monk class.
- Beta release. It'll probably just happen.
- Profession information.
- Diablo 3 release date tossed in for good measure.
- Lots of the first tier of raiding information.
- Details on changes to the Raid Finder and Dungeon Finder. I have my fingers crossed for old-raid Raid Finders.
I polished my banhammer.
It's shiny and ready for justice.
Jeff asked:
Do you think there will ever be a change to rested xp gains and maximums? I can burn through max rested XP at level 65 in about 1.5 dungeons with heirlooms. I wouldn't care if they left it alone in the 1-60 content but by the time I get to outland and northrend I just want to get to 80.
It's certainly possible, but I don't think that it's something the majority of players would feel a benefit from. Those of us who are able to burn through rested XP do so because we play hard-core, compared to other players who don't spend six hours grinding out dungeons in a weekend, etc. ...
Rested XP is also just a nice little boost to get you moving again after being away for a long time and isn't really intended to be a leveling mechanic, even though it's used that way by many players (especially those reading this post).
It's also harder to burn through rested XP at the higher levels, and it's not really super compelling after about 83 or so. In Cataclysm's last five levels, the way to level is through questing, and rested XP doesn't change the amount of quest XP.
Klausse asked:
Any word on minimum/preferred system requirements for Mists, or will they be determined by what Blizzard sees as people begin beta testing? Do you think we'll hear more about this in the Press Event?
I might be in need of an upgrade before it launches, so the more advance notice, the better!
I doubt we'll hear the minimum specs until we're really close to launch. That being said ... this is WoW we're talking about. If your computer can run Cataclysm, it's going to be able to run MoP. Blizzard isn't just going to dump a large portion of its playerbase to upgrade the graphics. What we will probably see are more ultra-like settings and things like that, so newer machines can take advantage of newer technology. But as for exactly what those things will be, we'll have to wait and see.

I'm all for murlocs being a playable race in a future expansion! :D
Draelan Mar 13th 2012 2:23PM
Murloc Monks! Ftw!
GuyverIV Mar 13th 2012 6:24PM
@Draelan
...well, crap. You've just ruined monks for me forever. I'll NEVER be happy now until I get my Kung-Foo Fishman.
Saeadame Mar 13th 2012 11:58AM
So, the GM (well, now ex-GM) of my guild logs on yesterday, removes 400,000 gold from the guild bank, passes GM to someone else and then leaves.
/sigh. Don't think there's anything to be done, but it was such a dick move.
Drakkenfyre Mar 13th 2012 12:03PM
Submit a ticket.
While everything in the guild bank is considered property of the guild leader, if the items were clearly from other members, and the guild leader swipes stuff from the bank then leave, Blizzard HAS been known to action them for that, and restore the items.
If the gold was pooled from multiple people in the guild, mention that in your ticket. At worst they say no, at best, you get the gold back.
Puntable Mar 13th 2012 12:47PM
I imagine that the gold was amassed over time through the 10% guild perk. I don't think you have any recourse unless there is something mentioned in your guild charter about the gold belonging to everyone....
I think that in some cases this is a scam. Someone decides it's a good idea to create a guild and let the guild members make gold for him. Your guild should always have guild repair turned on, so they the perk gold flows back to the guild members. If your guild does not offer repair, then you should probably ask your leader why. You should be wary of any leader that takes guild gold without putting something back, such as flasks for raid use, for example. If your guild has amassed 400k gold you should ask what he intends to do with it.

Sorry to hear that you got ripped off, Saeadame. My experience with submitting tickets hasn't been too encouraging; the last letter I got from them said that if the suspect got the money through legitimate authority (in other words, didn't circumvent controls, swipe somebody else's account, or exploit a bug), they won't do anything. Did the Guild Leader had made an appeal for funds shortly before walking, or otherwise demonstrate bad faith? That could be important.
Aaron Mar 13th 2012 4:03PM
Self-grammar-snipe:
Did the Guild Leader do anything before leaving that might demonstrate that he/she acted in bad faith? For example, did he/she make an appeal for funds under some other pretense, like accumulating cash for your crafters to use when Pandaria hits? That could be important.
robsmith77 Mar 13th 2012 12:01PM
I think one warlock per guild is probably enough....

The image this conjures up in my mind is just so awesome!
Tanddori Mar 13th 2012 12:38PM
I immediately thought of the Colbert Paladin pic.
Tanddori Mar 13th 2012 1:00PM
But upon looking up that pic again, he is carry a flaming sword. Oh well, still works in my head.
FLAMINGSWORDBANHAMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GuyverIV Mar 13th 2012 6:24PM
@Tanddori
It Shines so Brightly with Great Justice it looks like a sword. And causes Random Capitalization of various Letters.
No, no! Don't think about it! That'll ruin it. Just... accept the truthiness...
Nyold Mar 13th 2012 12:12PM
I also hope they preview the following:
1. Pet battle system and how it actually works
2. Scenarios
3. More concrete numbers of different ways of accruing VP
4. More class information, especially how healers are going to fare this time with intellect no longer increasing our mana pool.
5. Monks. So far we know nothing about their spells and sample abilities.
Puntable Mar 13th 2012 12:19PM
I was under the impression that they changed rested bonus to apply to quest experience.
slim1256 Mar 13th 2012 12:32PM
Far as I know, it only counts towards killing mobs and farming herbs/ore.
Noyou Mar 13th 2012 12:40PM
Negative. It works on mobs and herbs/ore. Heirlooms work on quests.
slim1256 Mar 13th 2012 1:49PM
Just occurred to me - it probably applies to archaeology finds as well.
No, seriously!
(Thinks about grinding archaeology to level a character without flying, shudders)
Aaron Mar 13th 2012 2:46PM
+1 confirm. Rest applies to kill EXP, picking herbs, mining ores, or digging artifacts. The only two things I know it doesn't affect are quest EXP and bonus EXP from Dungeon Finder. I haven't PVP'd enough to opine on battleground EXP.
I hadn't really thought about how to best use rested EXP, though it did occur to me recently that I could level 10 characters concurrently, playing a different character each day and using the rested EXP to keep their /played time down. Then again, if I cared that much about express leveling, I'd RaF myself or pay for dungeon runs. A guildmate recently towed an alt (same class, different race) through dungeons, and the alt hit 70 in 40 hours without RaF.
