The Queue: WTB more warlocks

I was reading this thread over on the official forums, and while I don't agree with everything said in it, I can agree with the conclusion: There need to be more warlocks.
Maybe WoW Insider should have a warlock awareness week or something. We'll promote safe healthstone sharing or proper DoT'ing or something like that.
Maymer asked:
What do YOU all hope will be announced/shown/demonstrated through the art of interpretive dance at tomorrow's press release?
Do you want to see the new faction mounts, dance, zone details?
Maybe more on how the monk class will work, or greater detail on the talent calculator?
I personally am hoping they reveal updated character models for all the Pre-Cata races myself. That, along with a date for beta invites (the sooner the better), and showing us some of the new mounts (come on flying nimbus cloud!)
My bets are as follows:
- New character models. I just don't see how Blizzard cannot do this, especially given the moves of the monk class.
- Beta release. It'll probably just happen.
- Profession information.
- Diablo 3 release date tossed in for good measure.
- Lots of the first tier of raiding information.
- Details on changes to the Raid Finder and Dungeon Finder. I have my fingers crossed for old-raid Raid Finders.
I polished my banhammer.
It's shiny and ready for justice.
Jeff asked:
Do you think there will ever be a change to rested xp gains and maximums? I can burn through max rested XP at level 65 in about 1.5 dungeons with heirlooms. I wouldn't care if they left it alone in the 1-60 content but by the time I get to outland and northrend I just want to get to 80.
It's certainly possible, but I don't think that it's something the majority of players would feel a benefit from. Those of us who are able to burn through rested XP do so because we play hard-core, compared to other players who don't spend six hours grinding out dungeons in a weekend, etc. ...
Rested XP is also just a nice little boost to get you moving again after being away for a long time and isn't really intended to be a leveling mechanic, even though it's used that way by many players (especially those reading this post).
It's also harder to burn through rested XP at the higher levels, and it's not really super compelling after about 83 or so. In Cataclysm's last five levels, the way to level is through questing, and rested XP doesn't change the amount of quest XP.
Klausse asked:
Any word on minimum/preferred system requirements for Mists, or will they be determined by what Blizzard sees as people begin beta testing? Do you think we'll hear more about this in the Press Event?
I might be in need of an upgrade before it launches, so the more advance notice, the better!
I doubt we'll hear the minimum specs until we're really close to launch. That being said ... this is WoW we're talking about. If your computer can run Cataclysm, it's going to be able to run MoP. Blizzard isn't just going to dump a large portion of its playerbase to upgrade the graphics. What we will probably see are more ultra-like settings and things like that, so newer machines can take advantage of newer technology. But as for exactly what those things will be, we'll have to wait and see.

Do you think it's possible Blizz will re-order the gems for MoP? It seems like in Cataclysm, anything that isn't red is fairly useless.

Or yellow - mastery is the shit for some specs.

The problem isn't with gem colors, but with primary stats being too strong. I can think of 3 specs that don't just stick red gems in every socket. Prot Warriors, Prot Paladins and Blood DK's. Everyone else just stacks Int, Agility or Strength til their eyes bleed.
To compare with Wrath, Holy Paladins stacked Intellect while Resto Shamans stacked Haste and Resto Druids stacked Spell Power. All tanks stacked stamina. SV hunters stacked Agility while MM stacked ArP and BM stacked AP. Red gems were still the go-to color, but the stat priorities for different specs we're so cut-and-dry which led to other colors being useful.
Blizz has said they want secondary stats to be more valuable in MoP. When "More Agility = Upgrade" it tends to make gearing very, very boring.

This maybe not new but on the Mists part of the Blizzard site, it now has a human male performing a kick under the "Monk" class. Looks like an updated model to me....

Hey I may have missed this since I took a wow break back in november but is there any light to be shed on who the main villain will be in Mist ((IE the deathwing of mist))
Killik Mar 14th 2012 5:53AM
Nope. They're keeping it under wraps possibly until after the game's release. Some fans are speculating that the Horde & Alliance are the villains, since their conflict spoils Pandaria. My money's on it being related to the Sha.

Two questions really:
What do you think they are going to do with Mass Res? Are they going to keep it at guild level 25 or move it back?
Also, do you think they'll do cauldron's differently this time? As a alchemist I only make flasks to make cauldrons, so there's not much profit left in it.

2 good questions. If only there was a developer Q&A....I would be up for some flexibility in arranging guild perks. I would still put mass res in the upper tier. I don't think you will be seeing it in the first 10 levels.
As for alchemy- things change from expac to expac so I wouldn't be surprised if things get tweaked. Hopefully for the better.

Q for the Q: Do we think there is any chance of Blizzard increasing the maximum number of caracters per realm? I have 10 characters on my home server (one of each current class) and would like to try out a monk but don't want to delete a character.
