The only thing I've noticed about mogging, is that it actually appears difficult for people to come up with unique looks. While the march of the judgement paladins didn't actually occur, the number of people I've seen looking very similar is still very high. We have a nearly identical looking rogue to the one in the middle picture.
The volume of warlocks with wings, diving helmets, pvp kits, icecrown sets, purple judgement sets (seemingly as a way to avoid norm judgement), etc is very high.
Now granted, the issue is that while there are many pieces of gear, a much smaller subset look any good, but I do encourage people to look around them and try to be different, at least at a server level.

Ah well, nice tier sets are nice tier sets, unfortunately, and even though you CAN branch out, some of those other sets are really time consuming to farm.
For instance, I'm trying to get the blue Bloodfang recolour that drops in various BC dungeons/heroics, but because of the drop rates and the fact that I can only kill the heroic bosses once per day, I still haven't got the whole set yet.
Not that it matters, bear form renders transmog fairly useless =P.

The purple Judgement sets aren't so much to stand out as that A) Judgement looks almost as good in white and purple as it does in gold and red, B) aside from the pants, the rest of the actual T2 set is locked behind an unsoloable boss, and C) the purple Judgement set pieces can all be tried for at least daily, while real Judgement can only be snagged once a week on bosses with more crowded loot tables.

I agree with you all. (If that makes sense!)
An aside though:
"Now granted, the issue is that while there are many pieces of gear, a much smaller subset look any good, but I do encourage people to look around them and try to be different, at least at a server level."
The above sentence doesn't actually say anything grammatically so I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to make. It's hard to have run-on sentences make sense. Don't use them!

P.S. Is this what you meant?
"While there is a wide diversity of unique looks, it's hard to make a matching set. Still, I recommend that people at least try and vary their looks, at least on a server level."
