Hurrah! So soon!

I think when linking to Daeity, one should have to scream "911 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!" for the fullest effect.
Kar On E Mar 15th 2012 12:16PM
But Cutaia...if you don't link to Daeity, the terrorists win. :P
Kunikenwad! Mar 15th 2012 12:22PM
@cutaia
Calling someone out when you participating in a hoax is rather funny, I think. I haven't forgotten that, by the by. And Daeity has been consistently correct on almost all the issues his blog discusses. Remember the layoffs WowInsider proclaimed didn't happen and weren't coming? Yeah, those 600 folks who lost their jobs would like to differ with you.

"Calling someone out when you participating in a hoax is rather funny, I think. I haven't forgotten that, by the by."
Ah, yes...because I once made a joke video, it means it's "funny" and instantly discountable when I have an opinion. That's some classic Daeity connection of two unrelated things right there.
Kunikenwad! Mar 15th 2012 2:45PM
You say 'joke video,' I say calculated attempt to drive hits to your website by tricking the fanbase. In either scenario, he's the honest one and you're not. As for Diablo 3, I'm glad it finally has a release date, even though they just hacked out all of the PVP gameplay. It is nice that if you buy the CE Diablo edition they'll credit your account for 4 months of WoW time (if I read that correctly, that is) towards your Annual Pass. Good call by Blizz!

It's funny you consider it "done" since January, when there is stuff in the beta still incomplete and buggy. I particularly enjoy the stuttering some people have been having. Systems which are completely able to run the game, but the game still stutters for them, myself included (haven't checked since the latest two patches, tho.)
Not to mention complete system changes and overhauls.

"You say 'joke video,' I say calculated attempt to drive hits to your website by tricking the fanbase."
First off, if you think I have anything to gain by "tricking" people into visiting my guild's website -- which includes pretty much zero information that anyone in the world would find of interest -- you're proving just what kind of illogical conspiracy theorist you actually are, willing to believe the most ridiculous of things.
Secondly, since you seem so intent on proving which one of us is the "liar," let's check facts, shall we?
The last time you "called me out" on here claiming I was a "prick" for making the stupid video, your defense of Daeity was that he "had his facts straight" about Blizzcon:
http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/11/08/rumored-mass-layoffs-at-blizzard-never-happened/comments/35012255/
Amazingly, you then went on to link a completely fake image as proof! You flat-out fell for his trick. The only difference between his "leak" and mine then? Well, mine was released a couple days before an event that I knew would 100% prove the video to be false. Mine was clearly never intended to have any lasting plausibility, nor could it possibly. It's believability had a built-in self destruct timer.
His image, on the other hand? His was posted in an attempt to make people like you believe he actually knew real information ahead of time; never, ever admitting it was faked.
And what's that you said about driving traffic to websites, by the way? You're seriously going to point that finger at a guy with a crappy guild website, and not a guy who, oh, I dunno...actually has a website that wants traffic? You know...the guy who continues to this day to post on it, and therefore has a legitimate reason to want you to continue believing his hoax? Do you know what Daeity's reward was for tricking you? This. This right here. You doing exactly what you're doing; linking to his website because "he was right before!"
And I'm the liar?

Drakken,
He believes it's been done since January because the image you debunked for him said the release date was January 17th.
Taranga Mar 15th 2012 7:45PM
Cutaia,
That image had an authentic posting date of "Thursday, August 18 2011 at 00:13 GMT". If you knew how imgur worked, you would know that when Reddit links to an imgur image, it takes ownership of the page and gives it two dates (when it was first linked.) It adds Reddit specific features, but you can click on "Get Embed Codes" to see the original data.
There are also really old posts about this blog. For example, here is one from July:
http://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/ig3m4/leaked_expansion_memo_is_a_fake/
Search for "monk class".
That's one just external site that mentioned it, but there were many more. I for one think it was completely real.

Taranga,
You are correct that reddit appears to add a second time-stamp. I'll give you that. However, the image is still easily debunkable.
Here's an image I uploaded to imgur about 7 or 8 hours ago. Yet, even though the timestamp confirms this, it discusses your post specifically, which you only made around 2 hours ago.
http://imgur.com/ezkiY?tags
Notice that the default - and only - font imgur has matches the font Daeity's image used on the slideshows.
So, what does this show us?
1) There was a reason the Daeity fake e-mail used images of "slides" instead of just typing the information in like any normal person would do when sending an e-mail. It was the only way to add in new information on the day of Blizzcon without it being weird that the font didn't match up.
2) This post from Daeity shows him freaking out over the fact that reddit added a second time-stamp. He didn't know that would happen either, but he sure did make a big deal out of assuring you that you can't "fake" an imgur timestamp despite my just showing you exactly how you can: http://daeity.blogspot.com/2011/10/thats-funny.html

Article title says annual pass sign-up ends May 12th, when it's May 1st. Don't want to confuse anyone just skimming past the topic! :)
Lizenz Mar 15th 2012 9:17AM
Nevermind, you caught it, haha.
ravenpoe8 Mar 15th 2012 9:20AM
Double Hurrah! It'll be FREE!!
Jamie Mar 15th 2012 9:22AM
Hmm, I'll probably go for this. I just renewed my new 6 months as of the start of the month.
This doesn't add a year of game time it just means you're "committing" ergo you can't unsubscribe within a year of signing up to the promotion correct?
Tabasa Mar 15th 2012 9:44AM
That is correct, yes.
zinckiwi Mar 15th 2012 9:47AM
Correct. Treat it as you would a 12-month contract for a phone.
Abbadon Mar 15th 2012 9:47AM
Correct. Technically, I believe, there is a way to still unsubscribe despite the commitment, but you'll lose the mount and free D3 license.
And in regards to your recent/current six month commitment... You're half way there!!
The annual pass takes into consideration any time already on your account. So if you sign up today, your commitment for paying for WoW will run through March 15, 2013. And given that you're already paid up for six months, you only need to pay for the latter half of the deal when the time comes.
And remember, if you add a D3 Collector's Edition license to your account while under the Annual Pass, you'll be credited for four months of WoW game time!! So that would leave you with only 2 months to pay for in the end should you be getting the CE.
Shrikesnest Mar 15th 2012 9:49AM
Correct
(cutaia) Mar 15th 2012 10:48AM
Correct.
