While this doesn't apply to the default UI, you can search by item level if you use auctionator.

For example, if you go to the buy tab and search for: Armor/77/80/i272
That searches for armor with required minimum level of 77, maximum 80, and minimum item level of 272. This is also a good way to make gold off of all those new level 80's around.
