We're less than a day away from the deluge of
Mists of Pandaria info that the removal of the press event NDA will provide. We asked you
what you wanted to see from the preview, but today we're asking something a little different: What would surprise you the most if you heard about it from the press event? New models for the older races? Big monk changes? The removal of 25-man raiding? No more Pet Battles or challenge modes?
We obviously can't talk about what we learned at the press event yet, but there were definitely some surprises in there that will cause a stir. What would shock you the most? Tell us! Break out the Carmack the Magnificent hat and see if you're really psychic come tomorrow.

If they would come up with player or guild housing after all, I would peepee in my pants out of pure happiness!
ElrithCC Mar 18th 2012 11:20AM
Housing or new vanilla player model updates would be a fantastic project to find out they've been working on all along without telling us how close they are to being finished.

Pandaren DKs

I don't really know why you were blacked out, I think it would come as a surprise to everyone if Blizzard went back on "no Pandaren DKs."
evoxpisces Mar 19th 2012 12:54AM
Yeah people downvote way too quickly. I know I'd be shocked at the announcement of Pandaren DKs. I think I'd be shocked if they allowed Goblins and Worgen to be Monks. Or allowed Tauren to be Rogues...
Shepherd57 Mar 18th 2012 8:10AM
I will be shocked if the Old Gods are not behind something

Full character customization aka on the lines of fallout, skyrim, city of heros.
Cullie Mar 18th 2012 8:13AM
Dance Studio! : )
Big Shoe Mar 18th 2012 8:16AM
The dance studio would be a huge surprise that I'd love to see. Upgraded character models would also be nice, but that has already been hinted at, so let's all just keep our fingers crossed!
Emma Marie Mar 18th 2012 10:53AM
Oh totally the dance studio. Then we can have dancing pandas getting down with our macarena humans :P
Lupos Mar 18th 2012 11:34AM
With the updated animations coming from the monk class new dances could be even more awesome!! Maybe that's what they were waiting for?
Malcalypse Mar 18th 2012 1:22PM
Right? Wasn't it the Pre wrath patch that wiped out all our mounts and pets and half the gear you had?
icepyro Mar 18th 2012 1:45PM
Haha. I read the title and thought, "If it would be a surprise, then obviously I can't think of what it could be."
Now I know.
Yes, if they actually did Dance Studio, then I would be surprised.

Frankly, the biggest surprise for me would be a smooth launch. Cata seemed pretty rough around the edges when it was released, and I fear that MoP will be rushed out in time for the holidays in a similar state. But the thing I would be happiest to see is an increase in character slots per server. So many guild mates already have ten 85s and don't want to delete one to try a monk! :-)
Blackfish Mar 18th 2012 8:18AM
If MoP doesn't get released until the holidays, Blizzard will have much bigger problems than it being rough around the edges. There are only so many alts you can level after the thought of going back into DS for the 8 millionth time (that may be a small exaggeration) makes you vomit in your mouth.
Revnah Mar 18th 2012 8:27AM
Cata wasn't "rough around the edges". You have no idea how much work it is to get a game launch-ready. I used to do QA (basically, game testing and bug reporting) in the gaming industry for a while, and I can tell you, most games go live with a LOT more bugs, and the sad thing is, these were console games I was testing, games that are "finished" at some point. With WoW, an always-online, real-time world with millions of players, this task is about 10x as difficult, and the bugs 10x as manifold. Many only turn up when more than several hundred players are logged into a realm at the same time (and thus, not detectable by a QA team or even a Beta test). Cata was very smooth, and there were only a few bugs which was a monumental achievement considering the complexity of the game.
zackwbrandon Mar 18th 2012 9:18AM
The roughness that Big Shoe highlights has nothing to do with the release date of the game. At release Cataclysm had passed muster with the group it was designed for and tested by: the bleeding edge of the hardcore.
Why do you think that the yearlong pass came with the 'reward' of access to the MoP beta? To get as many NOT hardcores into it as possible so the launch goes more smoothly for the general playerbase.
Nathanyel Mar 18th 2012 9:33AM
Also, compared to WotLK or even BC, the launch was way smoother than for those previous expansions (in general, I think I heard about specific servers having problems, but those were not the norm, but exceptions)
Narshe Mar 18th 2012 10:01AM
Cata launch was hands down the best experience, having been around since vanilla launch. Aside from a few server resets and weekly maintenance, Cata was a GREAT launch experience, the best so far in fact.
evoxpisces Mar 18th 2012 4:39PM
The only WoW-related launch that was rough around the edges was Vanilla. Cataclysm launch went very smoothly and I expect MoP to do the same.
