Hunters to get Stampede in Mists of Pandaria

This "Stampede" ability is one that the hunter community has been requesting for years and should provide a valuable burst DPS cooldown that will serve the class well in both PvE and PvP. We have yet to get confirmation that this ability will be available to all hunter specs, but since Ghostcrawler referred to it as a hunter ability rather than a beast mastery ability, it seems likely to be a class baseline ability that enables every hunter spec to unleash a frenzy of rabid death into their opponents' faces.I don't think we have talked about what we are doing for the hunter yet. I think a lot of hunter players have guessed it but the hunter level 87 ability is basically you get all your pets at once for a short amount of time. So if you have 5 pets in your stable, they all come out and do damage for a little bit of time, and that's really fun cooldown for them. I think it increases Beast Master's damage by 80% while they're out, or something ridiculous like that. That's a pretty fun one.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!Filed under: Hunter, Mists of Pandaria

This is great news but one thing still bugs me.... HYDRAS! Give us hydras, dammit!

You know, it's REALLY difficult to read the comments when they aren't updating properly... I read a comment, go to the next page to finish reading the comments, return to the previous page and see it's updated, thus pushing some more comments to the last page... Return to the last page to see if there's any more new ones before moving on, aaaand.... it's not updated. Hit reload. Nothing. Reload again. It updates a bit, but the start of one thread of comments is that should be at the top of the page is missing... and it's was pushed off the previous page... Hit reload on the last page and it loads a PREVIOUS version with fewer comments. (So, went to showing 3 or so comments, to only 1 again...)
I swear, the comment system here is getting WORSE with time.

I will need to at some point, tame 5 rhinos. just so I can stampede them in PvP.

Note the "long cooldown" and "short duration" portions of this ability. I am certain that this will require some tweaking, but it is another pebble on the pile of the reassurance vibe I've been getting as more information on MoP rolls out that, despite my genuine surprise, Blizzard appears to be listening. I'm reserving judgment until more information comes out, of course, but I am pleased, by and large, with what I'm seeing so far.

FACE THE WRATH OF MY 5 DEVILSAURS!!
Could we please have another colour of devilsaur, so that I can have an army of different coloured saurs? :3

Hrm. Gonna have to tame some more pets. Granted my huntard is my 3rd alt, but he only has his faithful dog still since gilneas.

Stampede of wild raptors, go go go!
josh Mar 19th 2012 6:31PM
You need to be a red-haired mage for that version. :D

Oooooooo Raptor Army, sweet!
Robert Mar 19th 2012 6:34PM
My hunter will be using five tallstriders.
SQUAWK!!! RAAAHK!!! CRHAAAAAAWWW!!!

I hope they trim the fat from our ability list. Right now we have too many abilities. In mists we are getting even more. Crazy having more key bindings than anyone by a substantial margin. (speaking strictly pvp)
Natsumi Mar 20th 2012 12:01AM
Try running a Warlock before you speak of too many abilities. I have about 30 situational abilities/spells/curses/pets/macros on my Warlock on top of my required stuff just to do my job (DPS) effectively. Being an Engineer probably doesn't help, but dammit, my BM hunter only has about 10 buttons total that I usually need and another 10 situational buttons.
Brock Mar 20th 2012 10:48AM
BM isn't an arena spec, so I know you are talking BGs. Most arena locks will have more than 50 binds. 30 doesn't even cover situational binds in an MM arena spec. It takes closer to 80 to cover them all. So Locks do take a lot, however, hunters take more.
Natsumi Mar 20th 2012 6:32PM
I missed the part where you said PvP only :p
I was talking PvE, not PvP, as I only really PvP on my Warriors (ME SMASH YOUR FACE WITH GIANT AXE!! RAWR!).

Still debating with myself what to macro to this ability. I like some of the suggestions here but I think, in the end I'll settle on:
"PET-STOOOOOOOOOOOOORM!!"

John, Paul, George and Ringo! Aw shit, that's only 4.
..... And yoko!

If it is a class-wide ability, I wonder how Exotic pets will work when stabled, as a Marks/SV Hunter. Makes me think it'll be more like Army/Mirrors, just autoattack/little extra dmg for these specs. Whilst being the CD Steroid for BM.
Pets gonna be called:
- Sadsack
- Hi-fi
- Lucy
- Claude
- Princess
May have to rename hunter to Grimes!
Paciphae Mar 20th 2012 12:33AM
If I didn't already have a stable full of awesome, rare pets, I'd be sorely tempted to go tame five seagulls and name two of them Alfred and Hitchcock. :D
Unlimited awesomeness is upon us, fellow hunters.
Joshua Nelson Mar 20th 2012 1:22AM
5 names:
Dumb, Smart, Wise, Kiss, Bad
and the hunters name is Jack... too bad there is no donkey tameable pet...
