Mists of Pandaria: Siege of Orgrimmar

The format of how Blizzard tells its story will change in this expansion, too. Mists of Pandaria itself, the game that comes in the box, will be a full, contained story. The entire arc of Mists of Pandaria will be there when you install the game, before any content patches at all. The content patches will be treated as sequels to that story. We will arrive on Pandaria when we install the game, have our adventures, and then see that story end. When the first patch hits, we will see Pandaria begin to be truly ravaged by our war.
While the steps taking us there are still unknown, Metzen did reveal that the war waged in those patches will reach a massive conclusion: We will lay siege to Orgrimmar to remove the mantle of warchief from Garrosh Hellscream's shoulders. It didn't sound as if it would be an Alliance-only venture, so it seems the new Warchief of the Horde will get a little too Old School Grom for their taste. However, there is a possibility that the Horde will get to deal a similar blow of their own ... Knowing the fate of Garrosh Hellscream, it's possible nobody is safe this expansion.

"We will lay siege to Orgrimmar to remove the mantle of warchief from Garrosh Hellscream's shoulders."
My first thought:
"HELL YEAH!!!"
I'm looking at you eye-to-eye my brother.

We get to forcibly strip Garrosh of his mantle as Warchief, and as a Hordie I will get to help do it?
OH THANK YOU GOD!
I can't tell you how many times I've been temped to roll a single Alliance toon *JUST* so I could get into raid groups and kill that idiot.

If only MoP's graphics had the detail level of the picture posted for this article...
I might actually be more excited.

I don't know... After we impeach Garrosh, are any of the current members of the impeachment-supporting party allowed to step up to be Warchief? Because if we can... I totally call dibs on it.
I will be a fair and just iron-fist ruler. I'm a paladin, it has to be iron because that is what I wear on my fist.
Also, my platform will be built on archaeology. I will provide everyone with 300 free points of the stuff! Along with bacon, we got the pigs to make some darn good bacon in front of Orgrimmar.

I have said this since the end of Wrath, "SAURFANG FOR WARCHIEF!" Come on... was ANY hordie not stoked during the Gunship start. "Rise up, sons and daughters of the Horde! Today we battle a hated enemy of the Horde! LOK'TAR OGAR!" - I use that during Tol 'Barad to this day, because it is AWESOME - so I say Saurfang for Warchief! Anyone else??
Artificial Mar 19th 2012 11:38PM
Naw... the new warchief will be... Sylvanas Windrunner. :D
Yeah, I don't see it happening either... /sigh

@ Artificial
The other Horde leaders dont trust her enough, or even vagely to accept her as a leader.
The one thing i fear and want the most is maybe a seige on UC, i know there has all ready been one, but about the new "Upper-Citty"? The other leaders (say Horde) feel she has been far to careless with raising her minions and want to remove her, a little seige on the upper citty along with some Gilians (they REALLY need more story) could help take her down.
After a the battle, instead of killing her cus, you cant kill her, her whole faction is revovled around her, it would be like humans without Stormwind. She runs away and hides in Scarlet Monastery ger own new fortrous now, and a new undead, (hopefully the undead will get a cooler revamp) will rise to power but as a week figure head controlled by the Warcheif. And the Horde thinks theres a little truce between them and the allaince on how the new weak leader is good for all of them, but then the Huamns, Dwarphs, maybe some highelves? And Gillnians attack once again (somewhere new this time) amd kill the new leader, but before the attack force can another leader, Sylvannus bursts stops thr attack with her remaining forces and almost kills the head of the attack force earning some trust to be place back as " The Banshee Queen"
But allas i can only dream of this happening

Alas, they've made it official. They're giving the office back to Green Jesus, completely undermining any chance for the Horde to actually evolve in terms of their characterization. GG.
Jamie Mar 19th 2012 3:03AM
Garrosh not Warchief..? Horde bias!!!!!
Teresa Mar 19th 2012 11:31AM
My prediction: All of the war crime charges the horde have done will fall squarely on Garrosh, who will die and take anything bad the represents the horde with him, giving the fraction a clean slate. Also to make room for the grand entrance of the Messiah, Jesus of Azeroth, who will return to the horde bringing his superman powers with him.
Matheus314 Mar 19th 2012 1:39PM
My prediction?
Cross-Faction raid on Orgrimmar.
How awesome would that be?

Here is what I (realistically) expect to see happen.
We all know Garrosh and Varian have an INTENSE hatred of each other. I want to see this show itself in several skirmishes between the two, where BOTH defy the advice of their advisers and comrades in pursuit of the others fall. I would love for Varian to fight Garrosh hand to hand for a nearly useless cause, enraging both Horde and Alliance to the point where their leadership is called into question. While the raid on Orgrimmar is occurring and Varian, no doubt, will be leading the charge, the other Alliance leadership should seriously consider Varian's actions, and was his personal vendetta his driving cause for the attack or was it a truly needed event. As Varian comes back "Victorious" he is met with the other Alliance leaders, who accuse him of taking a personal vendetta into the overall siege - as he blows his own fuse he attacks one of the other leaders in a fit of anger, and is promptly subdued. Shortly after this they determine that until Varian can control his darker self, he too, should be dethroned, and his Son (or another Alliance leader) take his place.
I think this would rock, and also put a bit of the leadership shake-up that the horde has felt for TWO expansions now into the Alliance.

@Jordan - I understand where you're coming from with Varian being eager to deal with Garrosh, however, if you read "Wolfheart" you're going to see that the outcome you are predicting is even less likely to occur due to the events that take place in the book
gitsnak Mar 19th 2012 3:07AM
Wow,
Sounds cool, the kind of thing WoW has needed :)
Jamie Mar 19th 2012 6:52AM
Plus if we get to raze Orgrimmar to the ground, so be it!
The Orcs are due y'know from their little Stormwind vacation in the First War.
gandar54 Mar 19th 2012 9:50AM
The Orcs are not "due" they paid for their "vacation in Stormwind" with years of enslavement...
lilywillylover Mar 19th 2012 10:58AM
Years of enslavement is nothing compared to total genocide. So no, they haven't paid.
Killik Mar 19th 2012 6:47PM
To be fair, it was only partial genocide ;)
yagamimoon Mar 19th 2012 11:02PM
And we only killed the ugly humans ;)
