I think Lipstick got it in one (as usual). If it were just us, for whom LFR is our endgame, then no it probably wouldn't matter as much because we're the kind of players that are used to it and would find something else to do.

But it isn't. It's the 'real' raiders also, getting an extra shot at loot that can hold them over and make a tiny improvement to their DPS. And it would screw over the amount of time it would take them to progress if they could get that gear at a much faster rate.
