Mists of Pandaria beta showing up on Battle.net pages

Breaking news tonight: The Mists of Pandaria beta is showing up on Battle.net pages this evening. For those lucky enough to get in, you can get the download client and then be presented with ... an error that the download server is currently down.

But that'll change soon.

Those who have the beta enabled on their account can copy characters to the beta servers. Remember to check out the Beta Opt-In Info and FAQ if you've got questions about the process.

Looks like it could be an exciting night!

Update 8:45 p.m: Here are the available servers for people to copy characters to.

Update 9:01 p.m.: New install screenshot, we now have ... a button! Which still doesn't work.

Update 10:00 p.m.: Mac users are able to download the beta, no such luck for Windows folks.

I happened to be doing some account maintenance and noticed that I had a Mists of Pandaria option for the beta client and character copy that wasn't there this morning. I guess my testing the Hell out of the last two xpacs (wasn't selected for TBC) is paying dividends.

That, or this is an error on Blizzard's part, and I'm going to look dumb in about 12 hours.

Do you think they've already sent out all the round-one invites, or will they be sending more out over the course of the night/next few days?

Usually takes about a day for all the invites to go out, so there's still hope.

I'd be interested to know from everyone who gets in how long they have been playing and when they signed up for the anual pass.

I was surprised that I didnt get picked yet considering I signed up while they were still anouncing it. I'm guessing it's because I've only been playing for 3 1/2 years.

Playing since March 2005, signed up for the annual pass the first week it was available.

Very likely the waves are based on numerous factors - not only total length of subscription and when you signed up for the Annual Pass, but how much raiding you do, how many alts you level, most-played classes, if you have a lot of pets, if you've beta-tested before, the quality/purpose of submitted tickets, etc. They'll get all the Annual Pass players in eventually, don't worry about that, but they want to make sure they have a good representation of the player base for testing.

Remember, you're testing the expansion, not getting an early preview.

Signed up for WoW: November 27, 2004.

Agreed to Annual pass: October 21, 2011.

Mists Beta showed up on my B-net account: March 21, 2012.

Been playing since early vanilla, and signed up for the annual pass during the first night of Blizzcon.
The download isn't working yet, but the client downloader is available and the character copy appears to be live.

Subscribed to WoW the day it came out.
Got the annual pass the day it was available - 10/21/2012

No access to beta yet. So I guess there are other factors beyond just subscription time and year commitment time.

It will be interesting to see the order that people have access. What I hope is that months don't drag by for a group of us waiting and waiting and waiting.
