I'm going to take this opportunity to say this to you: stop it. Find something else to write about. Speculation isn't news. WoWinsider is supposed to cover news and informative topics. I for one don't care about speculation, even if you might be right on the money, which you might be. Just let the writers do their thing and come up with something we'll enjoy and don't chop every angle into pieces before it's put together. Forum lurkers do enough of that. Bottom line is, bring me facts. Facts, not fantasy. Thank you and keep up, the mostly, excellent work.

You are more than welcome to read each and every news article we are currently running. Have you had a chance yet to check out all of our in-depth coverage of the Mists of Pandaria March press event? http://wow.joystiq.com/2012/03/19/wow-insiders-mists-of-pandaria-coverage/Thanks for reading!
/shrugsUhm... have you read any of the Tinfoil Hat articles. Speculation can be fun and for those of us that are lore-nerds debating EXACTLY this kind of thing is what makes WOW sites worth the time. If you're more fact-oriented than that, fine. It's just one more article you don't have to read. I do mean that respectfully.

You must really hate the tinfoil hat editions of KYL, too.
This is a blog, not strictly a news site. If you just want dry facts go read the blue posts on the official Wow site.Btw, it's been confirmed that the Siege of Orgrimmar raid will be cross-faction and once you kill Garrosh you will have the ability to permanently turn off your PVP flag and speak all languages. And that's the news....Now go away. :)

I find it surprising Blizzard has divulged this information at all. I was hoping it would be some kind of secret until the end of the expansion when BOOM after a series of events, Garrosh is evil. It's like waiting for a new book series to finish before you start reading, and someone tells you the end, and then everyone starts talking about how it ended that way.
"Speculation isn't news. WoWinsider is supposed to cover news and informative topics." Where the hell did you get that from? This is not exclusively a news site. It's a blog site. At what point do you think you are of the right to tell the people who created and run this site what they should or shouldn't blog about?
3-21-2012 @ 7:36PM
Let me just state the obvious: read the title. Think about the title. Can you think of any answer to the question "wouldn't this be cool?" anywhere in your life that would contain facts in such a supply as to satisfy the qualification of "facts only"?I'll let you off easy this time, but really, most of the titles and tags of this site are obvious as to whether it is fact, opinion, or whatever.

Yes! Bring me facts, not FANTASY about the... World of... Warcraft... Wait. What?

Although Matt was very gracious with his response, the truth is that this is a blog, not a news site. It's full of opinion, conjecture, and other devices meant to stimulate creative thought, express varied ideas and concepts, and encourage discussion and debate. Part of what the crew has decided to do is deliver as much news as possible, but that is certainly not the extent of the site's purpose.I think they do a pretty good job of letting us, the readers, know what portions are fact and what portions are creative writing, and there is quite a bit of both. It's not just the tinfoil hat columns; there are also the Breakfast Topics, the Sunday Morning Funnies, the Moviewatch, the Daily Quest, and more that are purely creative writing. Then there are many columns that aren't really fiction, but aren't really news, either: World of Warcrafts, Goldcapped, Around Azeroth, Add-on Spotlight, Reader UI of the Week, etc. These are interest pieces that are meant to be fun, light reading.I'm not sure why you think this site should just stick to the news and nothing but the news, but that has never been the case, and probably never will be (thank goodness).

"I wish that everything I am uninterested in would cease to exist."

"I for one don't care about speculation..." Then skip the articles you don't care about."Bottom line is..." you are not the center of the universe. Expecting a site read by thousands of readers to be tailored to your specific tastes is the pinnacle of self-centered behavior. Get over yourself...

I couldn't disagree more; personally, I'd love to see more of this."News" is dull when it's just regurgitated announcements from Blizzard. Add some analysis in, it becomes more interesting. Stuff like data mining takes that one step further. And stuff like this, speculation based what information we have, is why I come to WoWInsider. Sometimes the speculation is right, sometimes it's wrong, but the reasoning behind it really gives some insight onto why Blizzard might do things a certain way, or why they may not.In this specific case, I really hope Matt's right; if Garrosh is going to be corrupted, I'd really rather it be simply his flawed character succumbing to his inherent flaws in the traditional sense of a tragic hero, rather than yet another example of good guy meets demon/old god/magic and becomes a bad guy.Good stuff, Matt; and please, keep it coming.
