Mmm, EV-grinding... And don't forget about breeding to proper IVs and ideal natures, then passing on the right move set, going through dozens of eggs until you get that one perfect specimen. All this is naturally supported by various spreadsheets and calculation programs and such. High level pokemon requires some serious theorycrafting.
