Many players seem to be having a difficult time deciphering the intricacies of the revamped Scroll of Resurrection system. Whether that's because the
Scroll of Resurrection Walkthrough support page isn't visible enough or the system is just
that complicated, we don't know. What we
do know is that Blizzard has offered us a pretty cool opportunity -- a Q&A about the Scroll of Resurrection system, with the questions coming from WoW Insider readers.
Are you not sure how the system works? Have you run into an issue that you don't quite understand? Aspects of the system that you think could be improved, perhaps? Drop all of that in the comments below, and we'll forward the most common questions on to Blizzard.

Will they change the date last active for the recruited account in the future? I know it's quite a recent date that the account could have been active on but with people maybe dropping out now till Mists due to Dragon Soul fatigue ... would be a good chance for people to get a shiny mount.
I know that's not what SoR is for, it's meant as an incentive for people to come back. Not a "I'm going to come back anyway but I might as well do it like this for the extra stuff". Could be the tipping point though if people were undecided.
Nathanyel Mar 24th 2012 10:35AM
You said it yourself, that's not what SoR is for.
After all, and I mean this in a non-negative way, they want you to have an active subscription, ongoing, not every month out of four.
And especially they don't want you to unsubscribe with the plan to re-subscribe a while later for some tacked-on benefits.

not really a question, but its times like this I wish i had friends who played WoW. mainly for the bump up to level 80. I'd gladly pay for a service that did that, though I am a bit ashamed to say so lol. I have to wonder, people's main concern with Blizzard doing that is that people won't learn their class (from what I read). Is it not a concern anymore?
evoxpisces Mar 23rd 2012 4:30PM
It would seem that learning a class starting from 80 is not a concern, as a lot of people don't even learn their class starting from level 1. But with that said, I have a feeling a "Class Change" option from Blizz is coming. I know they said it would never happen but they said the same thing about Transmog.

Blizzard has to contend with the very real issue of people who want to return quitting at different points in the game's history. My brother, for example, quit during TBC. As such, in order for him to come back, he'd have to level up through Wrath and Cata just to catch up to me. This service helps close that gap- which benefits both him and me.

Oh thought of another question.
The level 80 character boost. Does the resurrected account have to have a character already on it to boost? Or can the account get resurrected and the player log on and create a character, then go to the battle.net pages and check to boost that new character? Not at all clear on how this level 80 character boost works.
emberdione Mar 23rd 2012 4:24PM
You can make a brand new toon to boost to 80. I did. My third account had zero characters on it when I reactivated it. I made a level 1 warrior, then logged out, then went to Battlenet and boosted her up to 80.
veemac10 Mar 23rd 2012 4:21PM
Say you have one Battle.net account with two or more World of Warcraft accounts, are you able to send a scroll of resurrection from your own Battle.net account, to that same email address and use the scroll of resurrection on one of the other inactive World of Warcraft accounts under the same Battle.net account?
emberdione Mar 23rd 2012 4:28PM
Yep.
I did. Twice.
Narayana Mar 23rd 2012 4:30PM
Yep- you'll probably have to do it via Battle.net as opposed to in game (unless you have your own toons on your friends list). I did it with my own account- ressed my 2nd account, created a level 1 rogue, boosted him to 80 and started leveling.
Valorum Mar 23rd 2012 4:24PM
I have 5 total accounts all tied to my main account. I sent scrolls to myself twice and used them to get 2 new 80's on two of the other accounts. I didn't pay for any sub time, I wanted the 80's to transfer to my main account (which I have not yet done).
I have tried several different ways to send myself another scroll, but it never goes through. I think there may be a limit to how many you can send to yourself, at least without paying for more subscription time. Wonder if anyone else has had this problem.
Ysonia Mar 24th 2012 8:16AM
You can only send two scrolls per day, so maybe try again after some time has passed?
David Apr 7th 2012 12:05AM
Would you be willing to send me a scroll
Mofogo Mar 23rd 2012 5:53PM
I asked this in the Q today: I just resurrected my character and transferred realms. I have 7 days free but will likely have to go out of country for a couple weeks. If I don't add gametime within the one week free window, will that affect mine or my friends perks, or will he still get his mount if I do put some game time on there in the near, but not immediate future.
Uaine Mar 23rd 2012 4:30PM
I have sent a scroll of resurrection. My friend accepted it, and paid for 30 days of game time. I have yet to receive my sparkle mount. My question is:
Once a SoR is accepted and time paid on the resurrected account, how long before the rewards to the SENDER become active? Do I have to wait until the 7 days game time has lapsed and we're into paid time? Or, is there a current backlog and that's why it's taking so long? When do I receive my mount?
Blackdemon Mar 23rd 2012 6:52PM
You have to wait until the time is being paid for. If it is a game card then it is immediate, otherwise, you have to wait for the 7 days. Then you have to go to the scroll of resurrection section of your battle.net account and claim the mount.
Thanks for reminding me, I'd forgotten the 7 days passed a few days back...
Smashor Mar 23rd 2012 4:38PM
If I were to send a scroll to a Guild member, what name would show up in the notification- my character's name or my real name?
While I liked playing with some of these people, I do not want them to know my real name for whatever reason.
Smashor Mar 23rd 2012 4:39PM
*The ones I have in mind are not on my RealID friend list.
McGintoy Mar 23rd 2012 6:07PM
If you send the Scroll via Friends List, they'll see the name of the character from which you sent the Scroll.

If I resurrect one of my own accounts, then continue to pay for it, without activating the level 80 boost, will I be able to level boost my pandaren monk when mists launches?
