Many players seem to be having a difficult time deciphering the intricacies of the revamped Scroll of Resurrection system. Whether that's because the
Scroll of Resurrection Walkthrough support page isn't visible enough or the system is just
that complicated, we don't know. What we
do know is that Blizzard has offered us a pretty cool opportunity -- a Q&A about the Scroll of Resurrection system, with the questions coming from WoW Insider readers.
Are you not sure how the system works? Have you run into an issue that you don't quite understand? Aspects of the system that you think could be improved, perhaps? Drop all of that in the comments below, and we'll forward the most common questions on to Blizzard.

My wife and I have quit WOW about a year and a half ago, sending both of our individual accounts into hibernation. If we decided to come back, would we be able to give each other the scroll of resurrection (from my account to hers, as well as hers to mine)? Or does the giver of the scroll have to be an active subscriber? In which case, only 1 of us would be able to reap the benefits of the scroll?

Might I suggest you contact someone ingame to do it for you?
Ysonia Mar 24th 2012 8:39AM
You won't be able to sent a scroll if you don't have an active account. You have to either send it from in-game (which would mean your account has been activated,) or from the website. If your account is inactive, it does not show that you have any eligible characters to send out a scroll. One of you will have to activate, or else have a third party resurrect both of you. Depends on if you want to do it for the mount or the other perks.

If I have two accounts under my name and one is inactive can I use the scroll?

I resurrected a friends account, he paid and it told him I would be receiving mount, this was over a week ago and my battle.net page still says I haven't earned the mount. How long does it usually take for the sender to get mount when the receiver pays with a credit card?
SlayerX Mar 23rd 2012 10:17PM
The credit card should get charged after the 7day trial ends. Unless he is having an issue with his credit card company.
Ysonia Mar 24th 2012 8:31AM
Yes, it won't even attempt to charge his card until after his free week of game time, so either it just hasn't sent the payment through yet, or there is an issue with his card.

I had a friend who I RAF'd with whose time ran out before March 4th, and I decided to SoR him. Since RAF was still active on his account, I decided to see if his level 80 character could grant my toons levels for shits and giggles, and it worked O_O. Is this Working As Intended or a bug?

I'm trying to send a friend of mine a Scroll, but I get the error: "An error has occurred. Too many attempts." It happened on the first try to send him one. However, last night, I sent my other friend an invite, and it had no issues. Any idea on what could cause this? I know I'm the only one who would be sending him the Scroll.
Ysonia Mar 24th 2012 8:17AM
Perhaps he's accepted a scroll of resurrection in the past. A single account can only accept a a scroll of resurrection once, from what I've been hearing.

Does my friend i refer have to pay for the 30day before the 7day free trail ends or cna he let that expire and do it in a couple day?
Nezne Mar 24th 2012 10:20AM
They can resubscribe any time, you just won't get the mount until they actually pay for 30 days.
Scunosi Mar 23rd 2012 11:24PM
If someone's been inactive since well before the cutoff date, but starts a free Trial account, does that mean you can no longer SoR them? Or does it count as a separate "account" rez, even if it's on the same Bnet account?
I'll probably just play it on the safe side and shoot them one now rather than waiting and getting burned.
Arrohon Mar 24th 2012 1:01AM
Trial accounts are completely seperate from other accounts, except for being on the same battle.net account. Since you can revive your own account on the same battle.net account, your friend should be fine.

My main is alliance, hers was a horde goblin.
dominicbrtn Mar 24th 2012 6:20AM
I dont have any friends that still play, Is there any kind of linking sites for people without an active account to people who want a free mount off my back?
raboo420 Mar 24th 2012 10:23AM
There is a sticky post on the New Player forum on battlenet for asking for SoR invites.
Satchi Mar 24th 2012 8:00AM
Ok I sent my wife's inactive account a SoR. It was inactive before the march date and is a WoLK era account - so all looks good. She accepts the terms and conditions. It then says she is not eligible.
I did send her a SoR years ago but she definitely wasn't eligible for it then. Is the old SoR making her not eligible for the new SoR even though she couldn't use/wasn't eligible for the old one?? Any ideas?
Ysonia Mar 24th 2012 8:22AM
What was it that made her ineligible the last time? My guess is that you're right, and that previous scroll is what is causing her ineligibility this time. If she never accepted the previous scroll this ineligibility is likely an error, as a person can *receive* many scrolls of resurrection but can only *accept* one over the life of the account.

I have a question that I didn't see in the FAQ if it was there. Does your account have to be active for a certain length of time before you can send out a scroll? I know the account receiving the scroll must have been inactive before March 4, but didn't see anything about the account sending it having to be active before March 4.
I have two accounts, one has been inactive for 10 months and the other for 15 months. With all the MOP news, I am starting to get the itch to play again, so if I activate my main account, can I then go and send my secondary account the scroll as long as I paid for 30 days on my main account?
Also, I see where this is good for 90 days, does anyone have an idea when the 90 days is up?
Thanks.
