The cover to the upcoming
World of Warcraft novel,
Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War, has been revealed, thanks to
Scrolls of Lore. Christie Golden, author of
The Shattering and
Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects (among others), wrote Jaina's story this time around. Of note on the cover is Jaina's white hair, which has been said by Blizzard in the past to indicate extreme power or a physical embodiment of the horror of Theramore's destruction. Could we be seeing Jaina flip out and go all white-haired Super Jaina Z? Is her white hair a mark of the trauma of seeing Theramore destroyed?
Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War is releasing later this year. Check out
Scrolls of Lore for the full cover picture.

Nooooo, poor Jaina. I hope she just gets tired of the Miss Nice Girl routine, but I hope they don't go the "let's make her crazy and evil" route they end up taking an alarming amount of their characters.

Not to mention that she's right to be angry. Making her evil would be further Horde bias on Blizz's part.
And talking about Horde bias... it seems that blizz is keeping the trend of releasing important Alliance stories on books, and leaving the in-game storytelling exclusively Horde.
Most people talk about how "Garrosh and Varian are both douchebags", evidently these people haven't read Wolfheart, because all character developement for Alliance happens exclusively on books.
I think I went on a tangent there... =S

Exclusively...I do not think this word means what you think it does.

God, they better not. Jaina's my favourite character, I loved her in WC3, I would be SO pissed off if she took the route of every canon character ever.
(Except Thrall.)
I think this book is the first WoW book I'll ever preorder.
I'm a Hordie, but I've always loved the Forsaken. And Theramore has the significant majority of the Lordaeron survivors. So I was so upset to hear what happened to Theramore, and I'm stupid protective over Jaina.

She must have gotten into a fight with her water elemental.

No lie, this picture might give me nightmares...

I can see where you're coming from. But for me it looks like she's singing a kick ass power ballad like Whitesnake's "Here I go again (on my own)" while underwater in the bath.
An odd decision but no doubt a respectable one.
shotiechan Mar 23rd 2012 9:07PM
It's also worth noting I suspect due to the fact she's underwater and there's debris around her, that perhaps that we are actually SEEING Theramore being destroyed in this picture.
Noyou Mar 23rd 2012 9:15PM
Yep. And her hair is turning white from the shock. As they alluded to.
devilsei Mar 23rd 2012 9:24PM
Or, perhaps Noyou...!
Upon witnessing the destruction of Theramoore, as the debris and her fall into the watery depths, an incredible power awakens within her. In a scream of agony and righteous fury, Jaina splits the ocean apart as she floats up. Her hair a brilliant white.
Before her stands the mighty warlock Frezaire, who knows true terror as he comes face to face with... the Super Mage!

Like Avatar!
Noyou Mar 23rd 2012 10:49PM
Or like a cross between x-men heroes, Jean Grey (aka Phoenix) and Storm. Yeah, a little disappointing on that. Just being a regular, pissed off mage isn't enough these days.
mibu.work1 Mar 24th 2012 1:03PM
I don't think her hair is actually white. If you ever have someone with light-blonde hair go into fairly murkey green water, such as that of a warf or the sea, their hair will often be distorted by sunlight and the water to appear white. THis usually happens about six to ten feet down.
Snuzzle Mar 23rd 2012 9:09PM
Do I see air bubbles... is she underwater?
Snuzzle Mar 23rd 2012 9:15PM
...is THERAMORE maybe underwater?? O_O I can't wait to see what happens!
Udderpowered Mar 23rd 2012 9:10PM
A mage drowning in tears? Not shocked.
