The Queue: Orc monks best monks

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) will be your host today.
Orcs -- probably the best race for monks that you didn't consider.
Whacha!
durandal asked:
When Young Pandawans hit lvl 10 and leave their Wandering Isle, are they able to come back or do they share the same fate as the goblins of Kezan?
Durandal gets first question -- and before the cut, because he used the word "Pandawans," and at 10 in the morning, it was funny. Sadly, no, the Wandering Isle is off-limits once you leave, much like Kezan. There is always the chance that we will return one day.
loop_not_defined asked:
My issue with Garrosh dealing with demonic forces is that he gets VERY UPSET when he finds out someone did EXACTLY THAT in Ashenvale. Not "throw you off a cliff" upset, but still pretty damned angry.
As far as replacements, I'm hoping for Zaela (Dragonmaw) to take the reins. She's dealt with demonic influence before and could still provide plenty of controversy (since she kind of looks up to Garrosh). Fact of the matter is that Orgrimmar is the Orc home town, and Orcs are going to need a new racial leader. While I'm certain Vol'jin will be the one to end Garrosh's life (see: troll starting town), I doubt him or Baine will be the ones that step in to take over.
But please, don't bring back Thrall. D:
If Garrosh goes bonkers because of demons, it will not be because he took them into himself willingly, but rather because of his arrogance and misunderestimating the ability, scope, and danger demons possess. Garrosh will be tricked, or Garrosh will be forced into a corner and make a stupid decision. This will not be Mannoroth again. This will be hubris, desperate and unfortunate.
If Zaela became Warchief, I would be incredibly happy. She's one of my favorite characters from Cataclysm and represents a lot of what Garrosh stood for while being less volatile. And then, whoa, the Horde is led by a woman. I'll be honest, I thought that I'd see a female Warchief before a Mag'har Warchief ...
wiedmaier asked:
My life just got crazy and I unsubbed. I put almost everything I had on the AH in case I don't make it back until Pandamonium. My internet was out last night, and I didn't get a chance to get my mail before the account expired.
Does the 30 days for mail apply to unsubbed accounts? Will I need to resub within 30 days if I don't want to lose my items/gold?
Yep. I lost a Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops like this. No joke. I should do another "biggest fail" Breakfast Topic soon ...
Murmel asked:
What Does the Pandaren Dance look like?
We do not know yet.
Thal asked:
Is Mr. Rossi playing the beta? (I bet he is.) If so, you know if he's planning on making a post about the new warrior abilities? I'm not playing the beta for several reasons, but I'm dying to know how the new mechanics and our sweet talents are working out!
Rossi and I talked this morning during our daily "Orc Chat in the Morning" Mumble radio show, and he made a pandaren warrior in the beta specifically to write about it. Expect it soon!
Boz asked:
Should I name my new Pandarin Cubbi, Gruffi, Zummi, or Tummi?
Tumtums.
alzeer asked:
why is Sylvanas undead form is soo perfect? no decay no rips shown like most other undeads
Maybe it's Maybelline.
Silversol said:
If Garrosh starts drinking demon blood, just... keep him away from Cenarius.
"Nooooooo, not again!"

It seems like they just have trainers added for monks, but otherwise it's the same basic starting zone.

Q for the Q:
Has Blizzard said anything as to how they will explain Alliance pandas not being able to talk to Horde pandas? Do they not speak the same language together and grow up together on the turtle? Or am I completely wrong and opposing player pandas will be able to communicate with each other?
Boobah Mar 23rd 2012 11:20AM
Pretty sure this one is a pure game mechanics thing, which isn't too surprising since evidence from every non-WoW incarnation of this 'verse is that there is no language barrier.
Thanatos Mar 23rd 2012 11:26AM
Men In Black zappy lighty thingy.
Puntable Mar 23rd 2012 11:27AM
The same way Undead forget how to speak Common when they are raised.
Killik Mar 23rd 2012 12:08PM
Massive hangover from faction-joining kegger.
slim1256 Mar 23rd 2012 12:11PM
I've been pretty tore up, but I've never actually managed to forget an entire language.
Those Pandarens must have some awesome brews!

It's a form of brainwashing. Get them so drunk they are staggering all over the place and barely able to be coherent. Then be helpful by calling objects what they are called in Orcish or Common (respectively). After a couple days of this, as they sober they will suddenly understand what's being discussed and blame hangover for the rest. The factions avoid giving them sufficient fluids to end the hangover so they resume drinking as at least that is being offered. This cycle continues until they are completely accidentally fluent. This also establishes doubt they ever fully knew a different language, a bond of common language with those they are bonding with anyways, etc. Once they default to their new language internally, and after such an experience, their old language seems familiar, but they can't quite grasp it. The result is where we get terms like spanglish and engrish from today.
Besides, once they are natively speaking their new language, if they come across one of the opposite faction, they won't default to Pandaren because they always default to their new language. Upon hearing a greeting in a language they truly don't understand, they will realize they are not the same faction and won't even try Pandaren, but rather just instantly attack or go away.
While it would sadden me that my Panda may one day meet his brother and not understand each other, it was an obvious fate since I cannot understand why he would choose to ally himself against me. There is no turning back from that course of action and I do not care to convince him any longer. He is dead to me and I must move on. Speaking a common language would only open old wounds. Let him speak his new tongue and I shall speak mine so that it remains clear that we are enemies that cannot be reconciled.

Last night, I was looking around for videos from the beta that showed non-pandaren monk gameplay. (Of course, there was plenty of pandaren videos.) The only one I found was a short, low-res video of a human male. From what I saw, I was impressed with how well the old model handled the new monk animations. I can't wait to see more.
Beta testers, please provides us with more non-pandaren monk videos!

On that note I would LOVE if they implemented some more melee and casting animations. I think ret paladins have like three animations throughout their entire rotation.

Wouldn't it be cool if when you maxed out all 4 cooking specialties , they gave you a hotdog cart that you could spawn and run. Other players would interact with it like you do with your own rather squire and pick the type if dog or topping they want for their specific stat buff?
followup ?
what type of dog or topping would represent each stat?
(sorry, I skipped breakfast and am really hungry so food is on my mind)

Am I wrong here, I keep reading people hoping for this person and that person to be Warchief. Hasn't Blizzard in one of their interviews (Read Below) and a blue post (link below) this week stated that Thrall is returning as the Warchief. That Alliance and Horde is going to help Thrall get his mantle back in the "Seige of Orgrimmar"
Brack: Sure. We haven't designed very much of it right now, we just know we do want to have the recognition from the Horde and Alliance that we have to depose Garrosh as the leader of the Horde and reinstate Thrall as Warchief.

rather = argent
...autocorrect :'(
It would also be a great time for another chef hat - classic old school diner 50's paper hat to go with the hotdog cart.

Why would the Alliance help Thrall back on the throne?
There should be conditions to their help. After all, if they could remove Garrosh without Alliance support, they would do so.
So, at the very least, the Alliance should demand drastic demilitarization, withdrawal from occupied territory and reparations. The Horde should consider themselves lucky, they next guy in charge in Orgrimmar is Thrall and not Lord High Protector Gelbin Mekkatorque.
On second thoughts, screw that. The Alliance should install Mekkatorque as Lord Lieutenant in Durotar after their victory.
Everything is better with gnomes.

Chicago style would add agility, because I love Chicago dogs, and I play a rogue.
Seriously though:
Chili dog: Haste (get outta my way, people. Fire in the Hole!!!)
Chicago style: Mastery (they are the masters of all other dogs.)
Ketchup, mustard, relish: Crit (as in, these are the most basic, or critical toppings, required to even make a dog edible.)
Toasted bun: Primary stat (like I was agil enough to trun the bun at the right time, or my fire mage used his intelligence to cast the spell that toasted it, or my warrior will use his strength to beat you senseless if you don't toast the damn bun!) Kind of a stretch I know, but we're just having fun, right?
Brats or Polish Sausage: Hit or Expertise (nuff said)
Sauerkraut (sp?): Used like a potion for a short term AP or SP buff.
Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head. What time is lunch?

One thing I noticed while trekking through Orgrimmar the other day was that Neeru Fireblade received some new threads, it struck me as odd since his questline abruptly stops in Cata, maybe a sublte hint to the new Ragefire Chasm and Garrosh's fate?
evandunn80 Mar 23rd 2012 11:20AM
I've been shouting "WARLORD ZAELA FOR WARCHIEF" for days. The warchief has to be an orc, they are the prime race within the horde and probably the most populous (lore wise). Time to get some of that female character development I've seen people asking for (done the right way for once).
Side note: For the love of the shadows and light don't put Thrall/Go'el/superman/Green Jesus/Raised by humans orc back as warchief.
Luotian Mar 23rd 2012 11:35AM
Seconded! I'd still prefer Baine, but I'm admittedly biased. I'd even take Vol'jin (and I have no love for trolls) over having to put up with Thrall again.
loop_not_defined Mar 23rd 2012 11:42AM
It seems like Blizzard is fairly dedicated to bringing Thrall back as Warchief, per a couple interviews. I posted about it on the Official forums (and got a response from Daxxarri :D ):

I love Zaela. She's such an interesting character. I really really hope they don't just let her go forgotten in TH after Cata ends.
