The Queue: Orc monks best monks

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) will be your host today.
Orcs -- probably the best race for monks that you didn't consider.
Whacha!
durandal asked:
When Young Pandawans hit lvl 10 and leave their Wandering Isle, are they able to come back or do they share the same fate as the goblins of Kezan?
Durandal gets first question -- and before the cut, because he used the word "Pandawans," and at 10 in the morning, it was funny. Sadly, no, the Wandering Isle is off-limits once you leave, much like Kezan. There is always the chance that we will return one day.
loop_not_defined asked:
My issue with Garrosh dealing with demonic forces is that he gets VERY UPSET when he finds out someone did EXACTLY THAT in Ashenvale. Not "throw you off a cliff" upset, but still pretty damned angry.
As far as replacements, I'm hoping for Zaela (Dragonmaw) to take the reins. She's dealt with demonic influence before and could still provide plenty of controversy (since she kind of looks up to Garrosh). Fact of the matter is that Orgrimmar is the Orc home town, and Orcs are going to need a new racial leader. While I'm certain Vol'jin will be the one to end Garrosh's life (see: troll starting town), I doubt him or Baine will be the ones that step in to take over.
But please, don't bring back Thrall. D:
If Garrosh goes bonkers because of demons, it will not be because he took them into himself willingly, but rather because of his arrogance and misunderestimating the ability, scope, and danger demons possess. Garrosh will be tricked, or Garrosh will be forced into a corner and make a stupid decision. This will not be Mannoroth again. This will be hubris, desperate and unfortunate.
If Zaela became Warchief, I would be incredibly happy. She's one of my favorite characters from Cataclysm and represents a lot of what Garrosh stood for while being less volatile. And then, whoa, the Horde is led by a woman. I'll be honest, I thought that I'd see a female Warchief before a Mag'har Warchief ...
wiedmaier asked:
My life just got crazy and I unsubbed. I put almost everything I had on the AH in case I don't make it back until Pandamonium. My internet was out last night, and I didn't get a chance to get my mail before the account expired.
Does the 30 days for mail apply to unsubbed accounts? Will I need to resub within 30 days if I don't want to lose my items/gold?
Yep. I lost a Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops like this. No joke. I should do another "biggest fail" Breakfast Topic soon ...
Murmel asked:
What Does the Pandaren Dance look like?
We do not know yet.
Thal asked:
Is Mr. Rossi playing the beta? (I bet he is.) If so, you know if he's planning on making a post about the new warrior abilities? I'm not playing the beta for several reasons, but I'm dying to know how the new mechanics and our sweet talents are working out!
Rossi and I talked this morning during our daily "Orc Chat in the Morning" Mumble radio show, and he made a pandaren warrior in the beta specifically to write about it. Expect it soon!
Boz asked:
Should I name my new Pandarin Cubbi, Gruffi, Zummi, or Tummi?
Tumtums.
alzeer asked:
why is Sylvanas undead form is soo perfect? no decay no rips shown like most other undeads
Maybe it's Maybelline.
Silversol said:
If Garrosh starts drinking demon blood, just... keep him away from Cenarius.
"Nooooooo, not again!"

So. What are the odds of Saurfang returning from mourning his son to help us stop Garrosh?
Sergel Mar 23rd 2012 3:29PM
I'm thinking of coming back to wow from my usual break for MoP, but the idea of leveling from 1-85 all over again on a monk depresses me. I've been through the story on tons of characters, so any tips on being able to "power level" despite the fact i don't like that term very much.
Shuckles Mar 23rd 2012 7:20PM
Leveling, at least 1-60, is no longer the chore that it used to be. With a super casual play style, you can still easily reach 60 in a few weeks. I'd suggest running as many dungeons as possible from the moment you hit level 15. Dungeon Quests give so much experience, you're almost guaranteed a full level by the time you zone out of each. If all else fails, the new quests give so much experience and the story is so amazing in most places, you'll hardly notice you've made it from Northern Barrens through Southern Barrens in only a few hours (levels 10-35).
If you have done all that already and still can't stomach the thought of the new quests, you could always try to use the new Scrolls of Resurrection (if you qualify) and try to save your free bump to level 80 for your Monk (though I doubt they'd allow it). The only other suggestion I could make is to (while unfortunately expensive) start a new MoP level account through Refer-a-Friend and use the exp boost to dungeon crawl that way. That's good all the way up to 80 now as well.

So question, so i understand that monks use leather(or was it cloth till 40 then leather?) do the leather heirlooms work for them?
Noyou Mar 23rd 2012 3:40PM
They use cloth and leather. Usually how it works is, it will be cloth from 1-39, then leather from 40+. Get the leather heirlooms as they scale down.
Killik Mar 23rd 2012 4:59PM
Cloth? Really? That seems an odd bit of design!
loop_not_defined Mar 23rd 2012 5:57PM
I'm pretty sure they'll just use Leather. Yes they can also equip Cloth, but so can Druids and Rogues.
The only classes that "upgrade" armor types are Hunters & Shaman (Leather -> Mail), Paladins & Warriors (Mail -> Plate). Death Knights start past level 40 so they're a moot point.
Every single class can equip Cloth, remember.
Shuckles Mar 23rd 2012 7:22PM
You definitely won't have to worry about cloth for your Monk. They would have to go back and create +agi cloth from 1-39 just for them, so that's most definitely out of the question.
Skarn Mar 23rd 2012 7:27PM
Monks just use leather. They have no need of cloth. There is no armor upgrade. They are like druids in that respect.
Puntable Mar 24th 2012 9:41AM
My Pandawan is using the Heirloom agility leather and the 1H agility mace.

Q for the Q
I have a couple of questions. I know we obviously have no definative answer for this but roughly how long will the Beta last (or at least how long have they lasted in the past)?
Second, I cant remember if this was a rumor, or a general fan request or what, but I remember there being talk about making mounts account bound. Is this something blizzard is planning, and if so, will this affect/eliminate the Mountain o' Mounts Achievement?
I guess my real question is do I need to light a fire under my own ass and finish Mountain o' Mounts before Mists comes out, and how long do I theoretically have to finish?

I keep seeing people say stuff about how the Alliance should "re-claim" Lordaeron, which has lead me to wonder; what claim has the current Alliance ever had on that area to begin with? Assuming Arthas' sister hasn't secretly married Varian, the Alliance has no ties to Lordaeron other than Lordaeron was once part of the Alliance. That's like saying the US has claim to take over the UK because they're both part of the UN.
Telwar Mar 23rd 2012 6:02PM
Mostly that property rights end at death, mainly. That, and the Forsaken are a splinter group of the Scourge, and still espouse most of the same xenocidal agenda.
Strictly speaking, they hold dominion over the lands of Lordaeron by right of conquest. That, however, is still contested by remaining elements of Lordaeranian military, as represented by the Scarlet Crusade (albeit one now firmly subverted by the Burning Legion).
Interestingly, the Argent Crusade is also a remnant of the military of Lordaeron, and exerts de facto sovereignty over EPL, and good chunks of WPL as well. They could well claim to be the rightful state of Lordaeron. Of course, they'll have to seize it, too.
Killik Mar 23rd 2012 5:04PM
You kind of answered your own question. Lordaeron used to be part of the Alliance and a Human kingdom. Now that it's held by the Horde, a substantial proportion of the Alliance would like to reclaim it for Humans to live in.
How justified this is depends on whether you regard the Forsaken as the being the same entities who lived and died in pre-Plague Lordaeron. Conceivably they are not, but they would disagree.
Udderpowered Mar 23rd 2012 4:27PM
What are your thoughts on the possibility of demo warlock tanks in MoP?
razion Mar 23rd 2012 4:45PM
Best thing to happen to the game since they added Hearthstones. But seriously, the only thing that could make me more excited at this point is if they introduced Rexxar in Mists and let him destroy things with Chen again. That partnership NEEDS to happen again. Rexxar hasn't gotten ANY screentime since Outlands. He needs to come back again.
Narshe Mar 23rd 2012 4:35PM
So will there be articles showing all the new Monk animations for all the old races? Haven't gotten in beta yet and would love to see the videos. Orc and Undead especially.
