Beta/PTR AH users seem to be insane. When Glyphs were introduced in the 4.0.1 beta/PTR, you couldn't even get them for the most part because people were pricing them at 10,000g-20,000g. Blizzard had to step in and put a vendor in that sold them cheap (at least for the beta, PTR never got it.)

"Lol, I got a stack of peacebloom cheap, only 500,000g!" And they can't even take it back to their live characters. When EVERY single item on the AH is insanely overpriced, it makes testing professions and such hard.

To expand on Puntable's post, if you plan on leveling any profession to test something out, stock up on the mats first, then transfer over.
