Am I the only person who would actually only be excited about beta-testing MoP if I got in so that I could actually, you know, beta-test? I find it weird that Blizzard seems to be using it more as a buzz-generation tool than for actually testing. I've seen so many bugs in quests, it would be hilarious if it weren't so sad. Not even just recent quests; there've been bugs everywhere, and they aren't even always fixed. I'm not even that excited about the new content - I'm thinking of taking a vacation from WoW when it comes out, that might or might not end up being permanent. But I would -happily- look for bugs in quests in the Panda beta if I thought there was a good chance it would lead to them being fixed before release. What I certainly wouldn't do is try to play the beta like it was the real game, not just because of all the bugs I'm sure exist, but mostly because I wouldn't get to keep anything anyway, so I wouldn't want to get attached to anything.

You aren't alone in the wanting to just test and find bugs, it was the thing I loved the most in Cata beta (I just ran the gob/worg start zones over and over) and it's the thing I am most lookinng forward to now. The thought of finding any way I can to break the game get's me all sorts of excited!

The beta has only just come out. There are going to be a heap of bugs.

Some things do get fixed when it's reported in beta, not all but some. In Cata's beta, everything I reported on was apparently fixed because I didn't experience them in the live game. In the live game I couldn't see under the world in the Shrine of Goldrinn, I didn't get dropped off in midair and watch the alliance battleship fly off without me in Deepholm, I could see my Netherwing mount's wings. The last one. Freaked me out every time I mounted in the beta. Netherwing mounts need wings...

@neminem For exactly the same reasons as you, I don't want to play like it's the real thing. Save some pleasures for the live release. I'm itching to get in and test pet battles though. That's my beta mission; to make sure pet battles are bug free and smoothly running. Unless, of course, it's an actual bug pet... Need moar bug pets!
