Mists of Pandaria: Female pandaren emotes and animation
Wondering what the pandaren female models look like in action? Here's a video of the emotes available so far, as well as some of the female pandaren animations. It's tough to imagine how the female pandaren move just by looking at a still image, but the video should give you a better idea of just how polished and fluid this model is.
Mists is still in beta, and not all emotes are available at this time. Some of the female vocals and customization options aren't in place yet, either. Both of these should come with time. For now, despite missing a few emotes, the model is looking pretty finished overall, and I have to say I'm impressed with how amazing they look and act.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!

So cute and expressive!
I have never been as eager to play a new race as I am now.

I was sold on the female panda when I saw them in the starter zone live stream, this has only confirmed that I cannot wait to make a panda. Not sure what class yet, but, I will be rollin a panda. :) Thanks for posting this!

Rollin a panda? Puns are so much fun sometimes.
EVOXPISCES Mar 26th 2012 2:45PM
Same here! I can't wait to roll (Hehe) a pandaren monk!

Mind = boggled.
Blizz, if revamping the old races makes them look this good . . .
Take. Your. Time. This. Looks. Bloody. Amazing.

I want new models for old races in 6.0.1 (that is, after MoP
So that they can be as good as that one there.

Agree with you 100%. I would so much rather get a really thoughtful, careful upgrade of the old models than get a hurried attempt to make all the old races look better. The Pandaren are beautifully done and so expressive.

I'm starting to think that Blizz has the *look* for the new racial models close to finished or finished, because I can't see how difficult it could be for artists of this caliber to add this level of visual detail to the models. I suspect what they're taking their time with is making sure the animations, not the static models, keep the characterization and feel of the original models, which I'm sure is proving a royal pain in the ass for them.
Edymnion Mar 26th 2012 1:06PM
Yeah, we've already seen the upgraded human model in the Chuck Norris commercial, so the physical shape of the new meshes must be coming along pretty well. Blizz said only the Dwarf was really close to being finished, but the human body model looked like it was done months ago.
Its gotta be the finer animations thats holding them up.

Anne, are the dance emotes disabled also?
Knob Mar 26th 2012 9:33AM
Yes, there's no dance yet, but there is a /cower emote. It wasn't present in this video, but you can look it up on Youtube or the MMO-C frontpage.

Very cool! I still find that her grin is a little too "round" and that tail is totally in the wrong place, but otherwise, I'm really liking the model. I hadn't thought I would be rolling a Pandaren, but I'm pretty sure I'll be making a Pandaren monk (along with 90% of the WoW playerbase, I'm sure) and, like all my characters, she will be female.
Noyou Mar 26th 2012 9:37AM
Her tail is high because her butt is high. No saggy bottom for this rockstar :p
Berna Mar 26th 2012 9:44AM
I agree, that tail looks like it's hanging from her belt, while it should be a continuation of her spine. I'll probably go with a stubby tail. :( But apart from that, she looks amazing! :-)
Caylynn Mar 26th 2012 9:46AM
@Noyou, to me, it still looks like the tail is coming out of the middle of her lower back, not at the end of her spine. But that's okay, I'll just roll one of the Pandaren that only has the stub tail. The grey colouration is currently more appealing to me anyhow.

It may be a bit high, but don't assume the human model. Our tailbones are fused with our pelvis. This is not a requirement. For example, see this kangaroo rat skeleton:

Straighten the legs and rotate the torso up.
But, yeah, probably a bit high - http://meisterplanet.com/journal/2005/06/03/image-of-the-day-japans-standing-red-panda/

Incredible.. I hope all the races will get such great animations. I really love UD chars, but improved to the level of MOP would blow me away.

Looks like the two hour thing she references is at:

Doesn't seem to be a lot of audio at the beginning, so if you're waiting for a podcast-style "Hi, this is me, and with me are this person," "Aka'magosh!" "and this other person," "This is the beta, Kraken aren't yet released" "... and we're here in pandaland etc"
Doesn't seem like there's one, so your speakers aren't broken, just be patient.

What really turned me off from a worgen was their rediculous walk animations and even worse their cast animation. So far I haven't seen much of the pandaren and as far as this female goes I like it except when she showed the hearth animation. I can't wait to get my beta invite! And since when do pandas have tails haha
