Mists of Pandaria: Female pandaren emotes and animation
Wondering what the pandaren female models look like in action? Here's a video of the emotes available so far, as well as some of the female pandaren animations. It's tough to imagine how the female pandaren move just by looking at a still image, but the video should give you a better idea of just how polished and fluid this model is.
Mists is still in beta, and not all emotes are available at this time. Some of the female vocals and customization options aren't in place yet, either. Both of these should come with time. For now, despite missing a few emotes, the model is looking pretty finished overall, and I have to say I'm impressed with how amazing they look and act.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!

Red panda's do have tails. http://www.flickr.com/photos/perhoff/1862765009/

Yeah, red pandas are not even really closely related to the big black and white bear type pandas. They're more closely related to racoons.

I was thinking the same thing about the Worgen yesterday. Stupid walks, put me off too. Also I can't imagine ever wanting to do the starting zone again... same goes for the goblin. I need a bit more freedom to get out and quest elsewhere...

the giggle was so cute!

only a woman would focus 1/4 of the video talking about the hair... oh hell, she does have a point, it looks awesome (the tail reminds me of conkers bad fur day, wich is kinda creepy)
Swifteye Mar 26th 2012 10:05AM
You're absolutely right... if it had been Sacco making the video, it would have been 1/2, not 1/4.
StClair Mar 26th 2012 12:58PM
Count me in as a male player who wants that hair. On ALL my characters.

The more I see of the female Pandaran, the more I wish I hadn't decided that DK was far and away my favorite class to play after trying every single one of them extensively. I don't care if there are a bajillion pandas running around and it's painfully "unoriginal"; I'd still race-change my main in a heartbeat if I could!
*whimpers about Blizz not caring about the lore/timeline when it came to Worgen/Goblin DKs but "hey wait that makes no sense" becoming an issue juuuuust in time for us to miss out on pandas* ;_;

I get you completely! My favorite class is druid, and I'm a sad non-panda too. Trolls were fast learners on the druid front, and I wish pandas could be too, with that whole balance of nature thing.
I wonder how many people with paladin and warlock mains are also sad non-pandas.

goblins and worgen DKs got explained in their quests. it isn't a matter of blizzard suddenly caring
goblins DKs are just one of the many that were out in the world long before cataclysm, part of the steamwheedle cartel
worgen DKs are gilneans who were outside of the wall (not everybody in gilneas was inside the wall when it went up; silverpine used to be part of gilneas) and then got turned into worgen by arugal
it makes zero sense for there to be pandaren DKs, in contrast, because there wouldn't be enough of a population outside of their big ol' island for the lich king to raise en masse like with the other races

You can try a monk and see if it is fun for you to play.
I heard Anne on the 2 hour playthrough saying that a monk felt like a cross between a DK and a Rogue playstyle. That might be fun. ^^
I main a DK but also really enjoy playing a kitteh druid, so I have hopes that I will also enjoy monks.
Though--unless they seriously break them--my DK will always be my main. ^^

Is there going to be a video like this for the male. I was planning on a making a male pandaran monk but this video makes me want to change my mind
Puntable Mar 26th 2012 10:37AM
I was planning on a male panda monk healer. I played the male through the starting area, and I found the run animation too bouncy for my liking. I'm going to roll a female monk tonight for comparison.
Catsmeow Mar 26th 2012 10:15AM
Oh Sassy Panda...I do adore you. I am totally rolling a female panda monk!
trefpoid Mar 26th 2012 10:17AM
These are great :) they really did an awesome job. The male emotes are hilarious too, specially /kiss and /sleep which must be the best sleep in WoW history
xvkarbear Mar 26th 2012 10:33AM
This video is really polished!
jealouspirate Mar 26th 2012 10:37AM
I know everyone is excited about the female model not looking terrible like the Worgen, but could we get some coverage of the male model as well? I've seen articles on here about female customization and animations but nothing for males. Male pandaren are cool too!
Shinae Mar 26th 2012 10:45AM
I agree that male pandaren need love, too. Judging from how things looked in the pandaren starting area in the beta, pandaren may be the only race (besides draenei) that are played more often as female than male.
