I've read that there's a dead zone in monk healing, where they're horrible at it until level 18 and then overpowered. Have you run into any similar dead zones in the tank or mdps monk experience?

At the moment all three specs are missing so many abilities that they are pretty terrible. Tanking and healing are by far the worst off though.

It's so easy to get to level 18 these days that this doesn't really seem like that big of a deal to me, unless you're planning to turn off XP before level 18 to make a dedicated PVP twink. Even with toons that I plan to make into dedicated healers, I rarely start healing before level 18 because there just isn't that much content to heal, nor are there more than one or two healing spells available. I always level as DPS and add a healing spec when dual spec becomes available. Now the OP part is a different matter, but at these lower levels where so little of your healing toolkit is available to you yet, I can't imagine that the healing balance issues are so pronounced that they'll carry over to level 90.

If you PvP-level (that is level only with PvP as much as possible) in current content you will know that this is true for EVERY SINGLE class/spec combination. We always hear about the places where this class is OP (rogues, anyone) but not about the places where they are not. And sometimes, it swaps when you change brackets or at a single new ability (backstab, anyone?).

1. Early Beta - we're still in that stage where Blizzard's top priority is making sure everything works, i.e. is it fundamentally functional? Tuning the abilities to make sure they aren't over or underpowered is part of very late Beta.2. Brand new class - If we were talking about rogues here, who are changing relatively little, it wouldn't be quite so unreasonable to expect things to be well tuned, but Monks are a whole new class. A level 15 Mistweaver could easily end up almost completely different between now and after launch.

I'd like to add:Complaining is a good thing, kind of.Sure, changes are coming, it's early, EARLY beta. Even after mists goes live, changes will continue. However -- why do changes exist? Because there is a problem. make sure you voice when problems exist so Blizzard fixes them. Just don't be a dick about it.(My post isn't actually targeted towards any of you specifically, but towards this audience in general :)
