Bah, this is what I get for posting a comment in a rush. Let me try and clarify this point.
I still love WoW. Everything I've seen so far (especially for Hunters) has me squeeing (is that a word?) in delight. The only problem, however, lies on the social side of things. My best friend is jaded by Cataclysm but is slowly warming up to Mists, but we both share a problem: our guild, the one guild where we've both been completely happy with all the people in it--especially the guild leader--is basically packing up for SWTOR. We're running DS two more times so that our Rogue can get Fangs of the Father and then the guild is shutting down for the rest of the expansion, if not for good.
I'm hoping to see something big enough and cool enough that they would come back and we'd experience MoP together, because in my eyes these people have set the bar very high for what a good guild is/can be. I can't afford a server transfer, a faction transfer is out of the question, and though there are other guilds on my side, I'm not sure any of them could come close to what I have right now. And if I don't have people to share the next expansion with, I won't want to play.
I'm also looking forward to seeing if Blizzard throws the Alliance any more bones...or at least ones that pessimists can't turn around and say "that helps the Horde more, GG Bliz!"
