Mists of Pandaria Beta: Ragefire Chasm from the Alliance perspective

Last week, we posted a video of Mists of Pandaria's updated Ragefire Chasm from the Horde perspective. That raised a question among the audience: Is the Alliance aware of what's going down there? The answer is ... yes!
Agents of SI:7 have infiltrated Ragefire Chasm with the aid of a gnome sorceress. While the Alliance agents in the dungeon don't know what's going on down there or why, SI:7 is sure nothing good can come of it. You're tasked with rescuing a handful of the agents who came before you and putting a stop to whatever mischief the new "dark shaman" are embroiled in.
If you'd like to read the quest text for yourselves, check out the screenshots in the gallery below.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Since the current LFG system rendered walking to different instances absolete(?! (spelling)), and with the fact that Alliance get quests in what used to be a horde only instance, my next question is:
will horde get quests in The stocades too?

The new RFC contains elements of plot/lore relevant to the expansion; I think that's why it is being opened up to both sides, and it is not just for the sake of equality

Word.
I say let alliance have at least one instance they zone into and go "huh?" just like Horde does.
Though I always thought that Stockades for Horde would be much cooler is you zoned in and got a quest to help the PRISONERS escape... Zone into a Stockades that hasn't been rioting for what... 7 years straight now (man that's one long prison riot...), but where we come in as Horde infiltrators having snuck into Stormwind to help some random Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, Undead, and Goblins escape (half the alliances quest givers are already blood elves, so why would we bother rescuing them when those guys will have cut deals before we even made it in the door).

That Garrosh. Tut tut. Red orcs deary me. I try not to be racist but those guys are just corrupt(ed). :D

is it going to be any easier for Alliance players to get to RFC (other than those that are of low enough level they can use LFG) to see the new quests/instance first hand? or is this quest giver just right inside the instance and ally who can't queue will have to corpse drag their way in there?
Luotian Mar 27th 2012 9:56AM
Only if it is easier to get into (or, more specifically, out of) Stockades.

I've never actually tried it, but I'm reasonably certain any horde player can fly straight through the front door of stockades without getting a scratch from a SW guard. in any case, it's got to be easier than getting to RFC.

Based on the description above, I'd wager there's an NPC in Stormwind who would teleport you to the instance. It would make sense, at least.
ejunk Mar 27th 2012 10:17AM
that's what I was wondering, Hal. I wasn't clear.

I've flown into RFC a few times on an 85 (presumably that's what you're going to use). As long as you start up above the city high enough to time the flying patrols or get lucky when you launch off the top of the zeppelin (you can ride the zep from Grom gol or UC by sitting on top).
And yes you can also fly into the Stocks too, but the door is much smaller so I'd say it is a little harder for Horde to get into the Stockade.
clundgren Mar 27th 2012 4:15PM
I've done both, and neither is particularly hard to get to at max level. Just be alert, and if you happen to get intercepted, keep going for the instance portal and safety.

Yes. Starting from level 60 when you can fly, you can zip right in there untroubled - air patrols only go so high, so you can hang out over Stormwind all day long unharrassed, and when you get bored, just zip down and fly right in.
I've not tried zipping into RFC yet with an alliance toon. Having to enter the Cleft of Shadow seems like it might make it harder, but I'll have to try it. There are 3 entrances to the Cleft, and I think 1 of them is unguarded, but a bit fuzzy there as I don't tend to pay attention to it.
Eliandor Mar 27th 2012 6:23PM
If you don't have or haven't played a Horde toon for a while, it might be worth it to make an Orc and walk around. While there are 3 openings into the Cleft, the 2 on the West (Ashenvale) side combine at a Y junction. These tunnels are smaller too but do lead directly toward the instance portal. I preferred to come in from the sea side, over the Valley of Honor as that opening and tunnel are much larger. You do have to turn 180 into the instance, but if all goes wrong, it is also a shorter path.

Alex, quest completion text would be interesting to read too. Any chance for that?
Alex Ziebart Mar 27th 2012 1:34PM
They don't really say anything interesting. There are no revelations or deep commentary. Mostly just basic "thank you" statements.
Takshash Mar 27th 2012 3:51PM
Hmm. When the Horde complete A New Enemy the quest text seems to implicate Garrosh is in cahoots with the Dark Shaman: "Good work, Hero. This will make it very clear how Garrosh is going to deal with failures..."
Perhaps there's nothing similar on the Alliance side because SI:7 already presume (or have further knowledge or proof) that what's going on in RFC is Garrosh's operation.

Why haven't they considered making RFC a Heroic Dungeon @ level 90? It seems like there is obviously some MAJOR lore going on here for the end xpac Raid.
wow Mar 27th 2012 11:03AM
Who says they haven't? :) If we're killing, dethroning or otherwise doing nasty things to Garrosh in the last patch, maybe it'll be 90-ised then?

In its current form, RFC has no quests for Alliance players. Just as the Stockades have no quests for Horde players.
