Blue Posts: More Ghostcrawler, Rob Pardo plays Titan

Yet another Ghostcrawler post, and some Titan teaser ...

Ghostcrawler -- Warlock tanking
As some of you have pointed out, the glyph of Demon Hunting in your beta build doesn't deliver on what I described above as the design. The newer version of the glyph, hopefully available in the next beta build, allows a warlock to toggle in and out of the off-tank / survival mode, more like the druid going Bear or the warrior going Defensive.
The new shapeshift granted by the glyph is called Threatening Presence (PH) and adds Taunt and Fury Ward to the normal Metamorphosis toolkit. You still get the damage reduction from mastery instead of the damage boost from mastery while in this form. You can also choose to go into normal Metamorphosis even if you have the glyph. Let us know how it feels.
We appreciate all the feedback and passion on this topic. We expected this glyph would serve a pretty niche community and were surprised at how many players were excited about it. We are still in beta and are still very much experimenting with what kind of gamplay we can deliver in glyphs.

Maybe Titan is to Warcraft what Prometheus is to Alien.
Prometheus has the same director, same lore world, similar themes and look/feel. It doesn't feature the xenomorphs. If it does, its a cameo. Its more of a tie-in type story that appears to explain the origin of the "space jockeys" seen in the first Alien movie. Whether they created the xenomorph species or were a victim of them...we don't know, yet.
Maybe Titan is related to WoW in that regard. Same look/graphics/play style, different story involving the titans known from WoW-lore.

Project Titan is just a project codename. At the time it went into production, Starcraft II was known as Project Medusa, Diablo III as Project Hydra, and Cataclysm as Project Cerberus. All named after creatures from Greek mythology.
It's already been confirmed about a billion times over that it's a new intellectual property with no relation to any of their existing properties.

Titan's a lower-budget, free-to-play "kind of" FPS MMO set in a cartoon-y style post-apocalyptic (a la Fallout) kind of world. There's art out there if you look at Blizzard artists' personal portfolio sites (if it hasn't been taken down yet). It's more of a side project, not a new frontrunner or something to supplant WoW.

"Arvind Bhatia is quoted on the game industry website as saying that Blizzard's product pipeline includes "expansion packs for StarCraft and World of Warcraft, a new Diablo game, [and] a new casual MMO." That casual MMO is of course Titan, the secretive WoW followup that has reportedly gobbled up Blizzard's most experienced designers."
Actually, they have stated it will be a casual MMO. As to how "casual" it will end up being in practice remains to be seen.

When talking about Titan and asking if Titan would be SF, traditional, medieval, fantasy kind of MMORPG..., the world designer Jeff Kaplan laughed and said it was "all that and then add some ..."
The game will be in a persistent world ( a necessity for an mmorpg) but probably with a lot of very different supporting playing styles "all that and then add some".
Blizzard ALWAYS build up their own logic in the history of their games. You already saw exclamation marks above the heads in Diablo. Their Warcraft RTS was already using half of RPG techniques, like stories, quests, heroes, stats...
So what do we see as "new" in WOW and Diablo 3 and evolving (without resetting the game itself) : farming, pet battles, ... Real Money Auction House...
So it is safe to say Titan will have very different kinds of playing styles, like farming, strong rpg elements, side games and - IF the experiment with RMAH succeeds - a perfected RMAH adapted to a mmorpg WITHOUT a standard subscription fee
Also they will ALWAYS include very hardcore PVE modes with strong on line PvP elements, as this is what Pardo wants: because games that are played competitively on the internet are played MUCH and MUCH longer.
