To me this write up, well not meaning too, is a pretty damning indictment of the state of pve rogues. This is also not much different than vanilla molten core

No no, I definitely meant to make some implications. I will be talking more about this in coming weeks, including an interview piece scheduled for next week.

nah, this sort of info can applied to several classes(with class-based modifications). back when i was lern2frostdk i sat down and picked the brain of a good friend of mine who was highly competitively raiding at the time and rocking some amazing numbers.at the end of it we compared output via three different meters across multiple dungeon runs. he, in his raid gear, and i, in my cobbled-together heroic/vp/jp/crafted gear, were really pretty close together. when he put together a kit to match me, we were within 5 percent. the difference between he and i? i was pushing two fewer buttons and had macro'd multiple cooldowns onto other abilities so they were getting triggered automatically as they came up. i could look away and think from time to time. he had to occasionally remind himself to breathe, given the semi-frantic way he could get on a real roll.that 5% added up to hell on wheels.

I dunno... I think there's a number of specs in the game where you can put out decent numbers with an incredibly basic rotation, but it takes true skill to reach the pinnacle. Ret pallies play fairly similarly; keep up inquisition, cs in place of ss to generate your combo points, templates verdict as your finisher andwill net you reasonable figures, but you're not going to top charts unless you really get into the nitty gritty of cooldown use. A bm hunter is another example where you can pull reasonable numbers with a basic rotation by putting up serpent sting, using kill command on cooldown, and dropping in a couple of cobra shots and an arcane shot when it's off cd, but if you want to be better than average, you're going to need to figure out haste plateaus and cd timing. Having some specs that aren't incredibly complicated just to do well isn't a bad thing. Easy to learn, hard to master is a good philosophy. Not every spec needs to be aff locks or sub rogues or john f ing Madden feral druids...
